T590 Specifications

One word dominated the design brief for Lola's second generation Sports 2000 car: EFFICENCY. Freed from the economic necessity to base the car on existing components by the success of the class they played a major part in establishing. Lola's design team have concentrated on producing a totally practical machine that incorporates the lessons of three seasons of Sports 2000 plus a long history of race-winning two seaters.

Aerodynamics have been completely rethought as a result of track testing and intensive wind-tunnel research ar Imperial College - the car is extremly low for minimum frontal area but very rarefully shaped to provide the requiered downforce. This ties in well with the need to keep the centre og gravity as close as the ground as possible for mawimum cornering powerand to further obtain this vital factor for major component, including the driver, have been located very down low. A super-stiff monocoque chassis and thoroughly reveloped suspension geometry provise stable, progressive and well-balanced handling. The braking syqtem has recieved considerable attention and again the wind-tunnel has assisted in making the best use of air-cooling ducts for the front and rear discs.

The car is very light, below the class weight limit and easy to maintain with single fixinf nose and tail sections to speed up pit-work and seperate monocoque side panels for really easy damage repair.

Efficency extends also to our well-known technical and spares back-up service.
