Emma's Crunchy Apple Crisp
4 Cups Sliced apples
3/4 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup flour

Grease baking dish ( 8-inch square).
mix oatmeal,
sugar, and flour. cut butter and mix until crumbly.
sprinkle over apples covering entirely the drizzle pancake syrup over the top Do not completely drench the apple crisp mix.. bake at 350  degrees for 35-40 minutes. serves six.
Fudgies
2 cups sugar                   
1/2 cup cocoa       
1/2 cup milk      
1 tsp. salt
1 stick margarine

Bring to rolling boil and boil 1 1/2 minutes.
Add:
1/2 cup peanutbutter
2 1/2 cups oatmeal 1/2 tsp, vanilla.

Drop by teaspoons onto waxed paper and cool.
home made hot-cocoa mix
2 cups powdered milk
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 powdered creamer
------------------------
blend together well and store in airtight container...
3 heaping tablespoons for each cup of hot water.
Apple butter
16 cups thick apple pulp
1 cup vinegar
8 cups sugar
4 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
------------------------
core, slice and cook apples and run through a seive pressing out all the pulp. combine all ingredients in heavy stainless steel pot.
simmer until mixture remains a smooth mass when a little is cooled.
this will take 3 - 4 hours; stir frequently to prevent sticking. pour into sterilized jars seal while hot.
