713, 714 & 715 Project

 

Survey at least 50 people who are over 16 and who are working. Your survey should determine the mode of transportation they use to get to work. You may use a computer or other means to help you to organize and analyze the data. Your work must include at least one appropriate graph.

The duration of the project is three weeks, after which you will present your findings to the class. You may compare your findings with that of the national census (http://www.census.gov/).

(2)    Use an appropriate graph to represent your information (bar graph/histogram, pie graph, stacked graph etc to represent the information. (20 points)

(4)    Be sure to include the mean, median and mode time it takes for people to get to work. (15 points)

(5)    Write an essay stating (a) how you conducted your survey (b) the results of your survey compare with that of the national census http://www.census.gov/  (c) from the survey explain what is the best measure of central tendency and why (d) what recommendation would you make using the information from the survey? (e) Explain what you have learned form the project. (25 points)

 

 

(1)   Project is worth 30% of your fourth marking period grade
