~Rose Lokia Tourist Guide - Visit the Free Land Today!~
The Free Land of Rose Lokia is a Scandinavian Liberal Paradise in the Region of North Borneo. It is known as a peaceful, devout nation, notable for its stunning environment and burgeoning pikachu population. Its compassionate population of over one billion enjoy extensive civil rights and a high level social equality. (Back)
Rose Lokians are a happy and compassionate people. They love to hold social gatherings and give gifts, and think that anything can be improved by the addition of coloured light displays. With lightning such a common phenomenon, the Rose Lokians have developed fireworks to an amazing degree to outshine the natural pikachu light shows. Nothing impresses a Rose Lokian more than a massive decorative inferno splitting the night sky. The nation also has an attraction to shiny objects and coloured glass, to the degree that it has become the nations standard currency (on the rare occasions when trade moves past the barter stage.) Rose Lokians are not particularly materialistic, but can be fiercely protective of the things they love most will say they love their friends and family, nature, and freedom before they begin to list the sort of assets that have a monetary value. Books and artistic works are typically rated the most beloved material objects a Rose Lokian can own.

Rose Lokia's main island is a crescent-shaped land that opens into an wide, calm bay to the south, shielded from the rest of the ocean by the Haven Peninsula on the West side, and the Horizon Islands chain to the East. Extensive rainforests cover much of the East coast, while to the North and West great mountain ranges rise, forming spectacular cliffs where they meet the sea.

The entire nation is prone to stunning electrical storms and often-unpredictable weather, due to long influence from the nations pikachu population, which has inhabited Rose Lokia since before human settlement. This makes the nation difficult to fly over in most aircraft, particularly in the mountainous North-West region known as the Firehills, where wild mountain pikachus can cause spot-fires in the forests to chase out perceived enemies. The beauty of the storms, however, is sight that tourists come from around the globe to watch. (Back)

The National Animal of Rose Lokia is the Pikachu. It is an Electric-type pokemon, commonly referred to as the electric mouse, and is often found in areas with high electrical output. It is also capable of generating electricity without any outside assistance, through an internal mechanism. This energy can be discharged at will, and the adult pikachu usually has high levels of control over voltage and direction of the shock it delivers.
The Rose Lokian Pikachu belongs to the sub-species known as Ashs Pikachu. This sub-breed displays intelligence and electrical strength far superior to the Common Pikachu. However, it lacks the ability to evolve, a fact that is causing experts to question whether it can still be classified as a pokemon.
It is regarded in some scientific circles as a completely new species, the true evolution of the common Pikachu.

Biologists predict that gender characteristics will start appearing in the Pikachu population within a few generations, and sentience is not out of the question for the distant future. But while debate rages over its exact classification, the Pikachu remains the beloved and protected national animal of Rose Lokia, for its cuteness, its loyalty, its intelligence, and above all, its ability to annoy the hell out of non-Rose Lokians simply by existing. The nation's major holiday is National Pyrotechnic Destruction Night, a colourful festival dedicated to massive displays of fireworks and bright lights. (Back)
