in no particular order,-'cept what pops into my mind first, i talk abou every religion that I know about.
church of scientoligy- i have not looked up this religion, all i know for sure is that alot of celbrities are members,that & i've heard that it was "founded" by a well-known sci-fi writer. also what's the point, just about every well-known scientist, discovered what they did in the name of god. so someone please tell me what is up with this religion?
satanism- the more i look at this religion, the more i think it's nothing but a gig to tic off, & frighten christains. it's basic teachings say all the opposites of what christain docterine says. this i know because i know a couple of people who are into that "scene"
wicca- also known as witchcraft, the most known "pagan", or "earth-worshipping" religions, but aside from thier practice of magic & spells (that hollywood has always over exagerated on),they believe in a goddess, mother earth, & they also believe in karma & meditaition
Christianity- 1 basic idea, jesus christ is the man, the savior of all humanity, 2 basic books, the old & new testiments, 100's of versions, thousands of languages it's tranlated into, millions of demoninations, Billions of members, & so on & so on; think what you want about this religion, but keep this in mind, if all the christains stopped argueing amonst each other, & got together as a whole,they'd be an onstoppable force!
Islam- basic thing about this is mohamad was a great man of god, jesus was not the son of god, & thier few radicals are screwing up the christains views on 'em, & thus making the christains forget about thier own radicals problems(such as the KKK)
buddism-what goes around, comes around, you reincarnate (come back alive, but as somebody else), until the end of time, then it all begins again,i think it's called zen,the leader is the dali llama, believed to be the incarnation of buddha-the founder of the religion, found enlightment (peice of mind with perfect understanding of everything, or nirvana-not the band) & tried to teach others how to reach it- any how when a dali llama dies, search goes out to find the baby incartation of him...sounds simple enough, but with all do respect, what if the child dali llama does not want to be the dali lama?
how will, the world end? how soon? is it caused by mankinds faults, or will mother nature finally do us in? those questions & more are asked all the time & here's my views on 'em... i was raised to belief that christ will come back again way before any of the armageden will happen, & he hasn't yet, so the world is save for now. but what i keep hearing is that the "mayan calader ends in 2012, so thus the world will end. am i the on;y one outthere that wonders "maybe they didn't want to put any more years on the stupid thing!" i mean we have 12 month calanders all the time, does that mean come the end of that, the world is over? i don't think so! c'mon people, the world isn't going to end any time soon so STOP PLAYING CHICKEN LITTLE! the world won't end tommowow, or the next day, so relax & live a little!
it's not likely that many of you wonder why people turn thier backs on certain religions, or turn thier backs to religion all together, the reason is simple, though for each individual, it's different. the overall reson is because of people. take for example Anton LaVey, founder of the church of satan; according to my sources, before that he was an oganist, weekdays for the carnival, sundays for a church around his area. The point of that is that he would see men out with younger women enjoying themselves, then on sundays, he'd see those same men with thier family, "repenting" & being "humble", which is crap all around, & because of that, & probally other reasons, he turned on the christain religion
the way i see it, is though there might be plenty of rules & regulations in this life, i believe that god wants you to enjoy life too! so within the boundaries set by the laws of your land & your religion, have fun!
sizzle, sizzle, sizzle...ya here that, that's the sound of this very topic, yes very & VERY CONTRAVERSIAL! here's my veiw when it comes to homosexuality & heaven: sure they just might go to hell, i personally haven't read nearly enough of any religious text to know it, but i do know this, somewere in the bible, it says judge not, lest ye be judged, or something like that, so i say, let 'em be, if they go to hell in the next life, know that you at least respected thier right to humanity & free will, so that you don't end up in the same place!
whenever a new scientific discovery comes out, there is always a group of people claiming that they're "playing god", or trying to out do him or something like that. but my view on it all is that god gave us the knowledge to discover this advancement, so what we need to be asking is "are we using it in the way god intended to have us use it?"
another hot topic, should this "revamped &/or wolf in sheeps clothing vesion of creationism" be taught in school? yes, darwinism is a great plan for explaining minor evoliotionary advances, it does have some "missing pieces". i mean we're still looking fo that "missing link" in humans, so whose two say there wasn't some kind of "interference", & whose to say it wasn't a deity anyways. there's some of people out there that believe that nome kind of extra terrestial made mankind. so intellegent design is a great "place holder" until we find out who/what created humanity.
