Leon didn't understand what she was saying, untill she blurted out in bad english, "D are dead!!" Leon's eyes widened as everything went blank. He picked up Min Poh and ran out of the station, into his car. Q-chan was back at the shop, squeeking at D.
"Min Poh! What happend to D?" Min Poh didn't understand.
"Why is D dead?" Min Poh seemed to understand that.
"D fall. D hurt." Was all she could say. Leon could have gotten into a million accidents. His driving was bad, and his eyes were blurred with tears. He stopped outside of the petshop, and raced inside, almost busting the door. He saw D, slumped over onto the table. Leon flipped D onto into his arms. He could tell, because of all the sweets and fats he consumed, that he probably had a bad heart. Even if he was a kami of sort, he still was mostley human.
Leon ran back into the car, and placed D carefully in the back with Min Poh. He sped off to the nearest hospital, demanding D be taken care of A.S.A.P. His demands were met by a bunch of nurses taking D back into a room. Leon was told to wait outside with Min Poh. Leon wiped Min Poh's eyes, and craddled her as she kept crying.
"D isnt dead...he'll be fine..." He whisperd to the small girl. Hours later, almost 12am, a doctor came out to greet Leon with a smile.
"Your friend will be ok, Detective." Leon would have screamed for joy if Min Poh wasnt asleep on him. He picked her up, and took her back to see D.
The next day, Leon had to take care of Min Poh. He took her shopping, buying her toys, food, whatever. Soon, they came across a flower shop. Min Poh picked out a beautifull arrangement, that had all of D's colours. White, purple, and gold.
"D!" She said showing them to Leon.
"What a lovley idea, Min Poh!" He said smiling. He bought them, and they hoped into his car, straight to the hospital. They got out, Min Poh holding a teddy bear for D, while Leon held the flowers. The nurse at the front directed them to his room. D was sitting up, gazing out the window. He didnt notice the two come in.
"D!" Min Poh cheered gleefully. D looked over, with a very happy expression. The little girl ran over to him, and gave him the teddy bear. He thanked her, then looked up to Leon.
"..*ahem* These are for you...D," Leon put them in a vase next to D's bed. "So how are you doing D?"
"Pretty good. The doctor said it was too much sweets and stress."
"Stress?"
"Yes..well, you see my pets have been bad lately.."
"Ahh...I see...Well as long as your doing ok." D was silent for a while, then, looked back out the window.
"Leon..."
"Yes D?"
"....I want to adopt Min Poh...but I dont think I can."
"Techinically she's an orphen, and she's under your care...I see why not."
"It wont be that easy...we need the consent of the family.."
"That'll be easy if they're close to you."
"Leon.." D looked up at him with tears streaming down his face. Leon kissed D's forehead, and left with Min Poh.
"I'll be back later D..." D nodded, and fell asleep crying. Outside, Leon saw a woman with the same patternd dress as Min Poh...beside her was an officer Leon worked with.
"Min Poh!" The lady cried. The officer explained to D that Min Poh was really on the boat. Leon tried to tell the officer it was ok. That she was with him. But he protested, and grabbed Min Poh, and the lady, threw them into his car, and drove off. Leon wasnt about to let D be hurt anymore, and got into his own car..and started to race after the officer.
