RULES

1.  PG Rating:

This RPG has a 16’s rating.  Swearing is permitted to a point in character (as long as all involved consent to the choice of words), but not constantly. Also note that some words are completely unacceptable (use your best judgment - bitch, bastard, slut and whore are the most extreme allowed and only in rare circumstances - do use your common sense please).  Keep the profanity to a minimum in the out of character boards, and any use of foul language to insult another member will be punished severely.

2A.  Player-Created Characters and PCC Creation

Character Limit

There is a three-character per player limit in this RPG.  Players must first ask for permission off an Elder God to create a second or third character, and must remain active with all three.  Any one character who is inactive for too long will be removed.

Available Races

The only races open to Players at the moment are Humans and Vampires.  Demons, Mutants, Thralls and Shades are all NPCs and controlled by an Ancient or Elder God.  Half- or cross-breeds are not permitted; you must choose one race or the other for your character.  Once you create and post your character's profile on the forum board provided, you must then wait for an Ancient or Elder God to review the profile and either instruct you to correct something on it, approve or disapprove it.

Character Profiles

When designing and presenting your character for review, you must provide certain information relevant to your character's chosen race.  This is to be done by using the profile forms provided below.  Use whichever one whose race you intend your character to be part of.  Information in between the '<>' is there to clarify the entry meanings and can be removed - in fact its probably best that you do.

2B.  Pre-Existing Characters and PEC Application

Pre-Existing Characters - Lords/Ladies and Lieutenants

There are several Pre-Existing Characters in Legacy of Kain: Dark Awakening.  These are the generals, leaders and rulers of both factions.  Those available for application are the following:

Vampires-                           Humans-

Kain                                    Seraphan Lord

Raziel                                  Valerie

Turel                                   Ottmar

Dumah                                Raikus

Rahab                                 (Serris)

Zephon                               (Delmut)

Melchiah                             (Lisrahan)

Those names in brackets are belonging to rulers who are minor Lords, and as such are less powerful or influential than their counterparts.  However, these men are not weak, for they still have nations at their command, so retain their importance.  If your interested in playing one of the aforementioned characters then its best to view the profile of that character on the provided page and view its status to see if its available.  If it says Open, then feel free to apply for him or her.  Any name in italics is unavailable for application

PEC Application

All players wishing to apply for a Vampire Lieutenant (should one be available) or one of the Human Lords must first contact an Elder God expressing who it is they wish to apply for.  Once they do this, a test will be sent to them, of which they must answer all questions and hand it back.  It is from this application form that whether or not the players is worthy to play the character or not is determined.  If you do not get the character, do not be too upset: you will be given reasons why, and often it may be that you as yet do not know enough about the character or the faction yet.

Application Form

Note: The more detail you put into your answers, the more likely the chance of you getting the part.  It helps also if you actually read the profile provided in the relevant page for the character your applying for...

3.  Godmodding

Godmodding

Godmodding is controlling other player characters movement, speech or making their character do something they do not wish to do, or acting upon information that your character could not have known i.e.  Your Seraphan Knight is walking through the woods and you read in another thread that the Vampires are going to ambush you and then your Knight spots them in the woods and attacks them first.

Ruling on Godmodding

There will be NO Godmodding permitted.  Any and all instances of Godmodding will be dealt with harshly due to its unfair nature to other players.  You will be given at the most three chances.  If you Godmod once you will receive a relatively harsh punishment determined by the Elder Gods.  If you commit a second offense you will be punished more harshly than the first time and you will be warned.  If you Godmod for a third time, you will be suspended for a time while the Elder Gods decide whether you are fit to re-enter the RP or should be banned permanently.

You have been warned - take heed of it.

4.  Non-Player Characters (NPC's)

NPC's

A Non-Player Character is an inhabitant of Nosgoth who has his own life and past like a Player's Character, but not as important.  They are the bartenders, soldiers, innkeepers, medics, etc that make up the populations of each faction.  Because of their relevant unimportance, these types are known as Minor NPC's.  Any Lords, Ladies or Lieutenants that do not yet have players to control them also count as NPC's and are controlled by an Elder God or Monarch.  These are known as Major NPC's as they play a major part in the story and fate of their faction and of Nosgoth.  Other Major NPC's would be generals or relatives to the faction leaders.

Controlling NPC's

Most player's characters will have friends and/or family.  Unless there is another player character fulfilling one of these roles, these characters are NPC's attached to the player character.  Therefore, an NPC who is connected to a player character can be controlled by that player if they wish, though they cannot live the life out of that character when he/she is not interacting with the player character.  However, do keep the NPC's your character has to a minimum - we do not want to see a player character who is merely a soldier being followed by twenty NPC's.

Lords and Lieutenants command vast armies of men and women, all ready to fight and die for their home and liege.  In the case of factions and their members, the player who controls the character in charge of that faction has the permission to roleplay his or her subordinates, ie captains, warriors, or other miscellanious peoples underneath his command.  However, the Elder Gods and Monarchs can also roleplay as these NPC's should the need arise, or to provide a faction leader with another person aside from himself to roleplay with if necessary.  When doing this however, the God/Monarch cannot roleplay the NPC being a spy, or selling information - unless of course teh NPC is to do so in a plotline that has been predetermined.

5.  General Conduct

Just a Game...

Remember this - first and foremost, everyone in the RP is there to have fun and to tell a story.  Do not take anything that occurs In Character to heart, even if it is something bad done by another character - he is merely playing his part in a grand drama as you are.  He does not mean it as a personal attack on your person, and an opportunity may arise to get him back IC later on...

Give and Take

We all like to win.  Its Human (or Vampire if you wish) nature.  Each character will at some point, provided they prove worthy of it, win a significant victory for either themselves, their loved ones, or their faction.  However, where one wins, someone has to be the loser.  Therefore, there has to be some give and take - you must be willing to lose from time to time as well as win for the sake of the story.  Those who do not will be punished.

Bantering

Friendly bantering is permitted in the out of character boards, but insulting, mocking or attempting to humiliate someone will not be.  This is all a game, and all here are equals.

6.  Finally...

The Most important rule of all… Have Fun and may the best race win.
