Melchiah
Keeper of the Necropolis
“Appearances can be deceiving.”
Rank: Lieutenant
Player Status: Open
Melchiah was the last of the Lieutenants to be created and thus received the least amount of Kain's gift. Though immortal, his frail body still retained many of its previous mortal weaknesses, and wounds inflicted upon him took longer to heal than those of his brothers. Granted the Flesh Armour by Kain, Melchiah also inherited the ability to enter the spectral realm for longer periods than his older brother Raziel.
As the Clans were sent across the land of Nosgoth to find for themselves their own lairs, citadels and strongholds, the Melchahim, being the last to leave, had few choices left, finding the ample lands to the north claimed by the Turelim and Dumahim, whilst much of the Western Territories now fell under the command of Raziel. However, Melchiah saw one place that would both suit the needs of his Clan and deliver a demoralizing blow to the Humans of Freeport: the Necropolis, where the great heroes and nobles of Freeport's past were buried. Their target chosen, the Melchahim marched outwards, arriving at the Necropolis within two days of marching. Once they arrived, Melchiah observed the defenses briefly before ordering an attack: any delays would lose more notoriety for his Clan in Kain's eyes.
To his surprise however, the first assault was repelled, the defenders suffering fewer casualties than expected. Furious, Melchiah ordered another assault immediately, and this one too failed. Finally pausing for thought, Melchiah studied the defenses in more detail than he had before, and came up with a new plan. This in his eyes had to work, for he had heard that Rahab had taken the Drowned Abbey and Zephon was now beginning his assault on the Cathedral to the south. Whilst some of his force assaulted the defenses, the remainder burrowed underground, while a third detachment of fullbloods led by Melchiah entered the spectral realm and passed through the gates and climbed the towers. Against this three way assault, and caught in their rear and from out of nowhere, the defenders were finally defeated.
Being the youngest, Melchiah feels he has more to prove than his elder brothers, and often takes risks more so than he should. He is eager to prove himself worthy to serve Kain as his Lieutenant and will hence do anything commanded of him. However, he tends to be a little gullible, having his Clan unknowingly been manipulated by Turel to better his older brother's aims, instead of the promise of increasing Melchiah's stature.
