At Investwise, we aim at obviating the need of the individual investor to access information, to reduce their reliance on market rumours and to help them optimize the returns on their portfolio. Our advice is based on fundamental and technical analyses.
Fundamental analysis of a scrip is the study of the past performance of the company, raw material availability, industry scenario, promoter's background, etc.... We are supported in this analysis by an exhaustive database of over 4,000 companies.
Technical analysis is the study of the market action i.e..... The price movement, as decided by the demand and supply of the scrip. While fundamental analysis helps in determining the inherent strengths/ weaknesses of a company, technical analysis helps in identifying the entry and exit points.

Technical Analysis has always been an area of special interest for me. I have been forecasting stock and index movements with the help of technical analysis for the last eight years. What makes this study exhaustive is the influence of the human behaviour in it. Among the various theories of stock market behaviour, none explores the connection between human psychology and the stock markets better than the Elliott Wave Theory.
In June 1998, I started studying the behaviour of the sensex on inter day charts with the help of Elliott Wave Theory. The accuracy of the predictions based on this method was simply astounding. I also tried inter day trading during this period and found that following the movement of sensex was sufficient to decide about the entry and exit points for any stock during the day. This fact has been corroborated by many users of the Daily Wave Analyst who monitor the sensex primarily to decide the point of entry and exit for all the stocks during the day.
The idea to propagate this method to a larger number of people was born in late 1998. In November 1998, the Daily Wave Analyst was test marketed to a select group. The response was encouraging and the feed back received from this group helped me to develop a more reader friendly format with less of technical jargon.
The Daily Wave Analyst was officially launched in January 1999 and the response ranged from pure amazement at the level of accuracy in predictions to a keen desire on the part of some to master this skill themselves. The clients who have benefited the most from the Daily Wave Analyst (those who are still with me from the inception till now) are those who are themselves technical analysts. They are also the ones who have more than just mercenary interest in the stock market and are more interested in understanding the market than flowing with the tide.
From the year 2000 onwards, I started applying the Elliott Wave Theory to the US market indices like the Standard and Poor 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average and the NASDAQ composite index. I was able to attain satisfactory level of accuracy in these markets as well. The next step was the New York Gold and Silver futures market. Based on these studies was born "The Daily Wave Analyst - International".
