"Jon's Igloo"
:*´`³¤³´`*:»«:*´`³¤³´`*:»§«:*´`³¤³´`*:»«:*´`³¤³´`*:»§«
When Jon was about 10 years of age , he used a saw to cut blocks of frozen snow from drifts in the yard, and made a huge two roomed sized Igloo in our front yard (His daddy never knew about using his saw).
A neighbor lady, Carole Grover, who had seen it while driving by with her husband to feed cattle, drove back later to take a picture. She took the developed picture to the Cherokee, OK Publishing Paper Co, a local Newspaper office, where it was published. The weather remained cold, so the Igloo lasted several weeks.
Many people who saw the picture of the Igloo in the paper, drove to our home to see it. Some even got out of their cars to look inside. Other people took pictures and some of the younger children even crawled inside.
The Igloo was a great source of entertainment for our children until it melted.
Jon still helps his daughters build snowmen in their yard, just less than two miles away from where he as a child, used to build his snowmen and the Igloo.
Great memories !!
