The "Baroque Style" in general, tended towards a new order and a new totality. The Baroque artist tried to place his work in a universal context. The Baroque art did not find its order in calmness. On the contrary, everything about it reveals tension and movement. This Style also marks deep contradictions. Actually it was the art of the non-bourgeois strata, of nobility , of the monastic orders. The name Baroque was assigned to this style, dissident from the severe classical norms. The qualities most frequently associated with Baroque are grandeur, sensuous richness, drama, vitality and emotional exuberance. Baroque style is associated with the Catholic Counter - Reformation , the rise of the new Protestant faith (Calvinism, Anglicanism and Lutheranism). It is expressing the self-confidents and spirit of the reborn Catholic Church.
