LOGSNAPPER'S SEPTEMBER 11 TRIBUTE
I was not there when it happened 1 year ago.  I was not one of the emergencey services team that were able to rescue people from this disaster.  Nor was I one of the armed forces that were able to do their bit for the Western World and for Democracy.  Nor was I any of the people that got killed nor any of the refugees that are forced to flee the terror that is going on in their country.

Yet, my family, friends and I are still affected by what is going on.  I was frightened for my family (Mum, Dad, brother and brother's friend) when they were flying to Europe and back (because of what might happen).  My sister, brother in law and their children were inconvenienced by an airline strike that occurred around about that time.  And that my fave band, Judas Priest would not be able to make it to Australia (or back to the UK) when they came over just under 2 months afterwards.

However, I still believe I can pay my tribute to what has happened a year ago.  I listened to 2JJJ's 'Three Hours of Power' and there was a 1 minute's silence (for all those who had died).  I heard about it on Oprah Winfrey's Show.  It was on the news - people were attending vigil masses and protest marches. Even shortly after it happened, The Rockman (c/o 2RRR's Trivial Breakfast Show on Wednesday mornings) burned John Lennon's 'Imagine' onto a blank Cd and added some September 11 footage.  I, therefore, felt obliged to do something myself - hence the reason for my 'Tribute' page.

Thank you for hearing me out.  It is now September 12, 2002 - but better late than ever to pay my tribute.  Take a look at the pictures of New York that I took when I was over there about four and a half years before the tragedy, and remember it for what it was.
