THE PLAN OF SALVATION

Are you a Christian? Not sure? Are you interested? If you are here are some things that I believe you should know.

1. We are all sinners; you, me, everyone. Romans 3:23 says, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Isaiah 65:6 says, but we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags. That means, any good thing we can do is as a filthy, dirty, rag before a Just, Holy God. We can't do anything to earn our way to Heaven. We are lost and without hope before God.

2. There is a penalty or price to pay for our sins. Romans 6:23 says, For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. God told Adam, "If you eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you will surely die". He was talking about Spiritual death. Because Adam died that day Spiritually, we all became Spiritually dead. Romans 5:12 says, Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned. The price to pay for our sins is death.

3. But the Good News is, we don't have to pay that price, Jesus paid that price for us on the cross. He did it because He loves us. We didn't do anything to deserve that love. We can't do anything to deserve His love. He just does. Romans 5:8 says, But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

4. How do we get this free gift? Simply believe. Believe that He died for you and that He will take away all your sins. Look at Romans 10:9,10&13, that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

5. Ask Him to forgive your sins, believe that He died to take away those sins, and accept Him as your Savior today. That's all you have to do.

6. You can't earn it, you don't even clean up your act first. Salvation is a gift. From God. For you. You don't pay for a gift, someone gives it to you. God is willing to give you this free gift of salvation. All you have to do is accept it and it's yours. Forever. Please, do it today. Don't wait.
