Who Wrote the New Testament and Whom Did They Write it To?

Chapter 2

Intro

There was a new set of circumstances at the beginning of the New Testament. Even more than before, God needed to give direction to His people. This time it was a new people with the same standards, but standards to which they were not accustomed.

God had chosen to reveal Himself to man and needed devout people to pen a record of the New Beginning, the beginning of the church as His people. Israel had turned from Him and He wanted His new people to have every opportunity to know His love and compassion.

God also wanted His new people to have the tools (His Word) to govern their lives in a way as to glorify Him.

You can ask yourself these three questions as you study this chapter:

 (1)   What was the writer’s relationship with God?

 (2)   What was the relationship of the church with God?

(3)   Why did God choose this person to be His spokesperson?

You see God doesn’t really change, He just changes the situation.
