PRINCE
ALBERT HUNT
Prince Albert Hunt (1901-1931) was a Dallas area musician
who often performed on the medicine show circuit with his band The
Texas Ramblers.
He is pictured here with a guitar, but was better known for his fiddling.
His outstanding fiddling style has a fierce, raw energy and a bluesy, rural
feel to it.
His gutteral vocals seem comical and serious at the same time.
His few recorded performances are classics.
Hunt was shot and killed at the age of 30, supposedly over a woman.
Hunt is pictured above in blackface with his fiddle.
