Causes of Eruption
    Where tectonic plates meet several different things can happen.  The plates can pull away opening up a trench that has lava in it.  Or  one plate can go under another and strike magma which rises from the hot spot when the pressure is right.  Eruptions are caused when gases and heat build up enough pressure to literally "blow the top off" the volcano.
