General Info about volcanos
Volcanos happen
where two continental plates meet. The magma under pressure is forced
out the top.
Volcanos can be any of the 3 main types of the following Cinder Cone, Composite and Shield.
Composite volcanos release gas and ash from the top of the trephra during a violent period. During a quiet period the lava erupts over the top of the trephra layer.
Cinder Cones are formed from explosions shooting hot lava into the air. When the lava hardens into tephra.
Shield volcanos
are formed when lava is spread out in flat layers over the top of the volcano.
This cause slightly sloping sides.
