Devils Tower

Devils Tower was once a volcano even with the surface of the ground.  It formed solid walls from magma and erosion wore down the land around it.  The rock atr devils tower is supposedly 40 million years old. It rises 1,267 feet above the ground.

The land and volcano are known to be sacred areas of worsip by the native americans in Wyoming.  It has become a national monument and a sacred site of worship for the native americans.
The Indian legend is that seven girls were playing in the forest when they were discovered by a bear.  The bear chased them and they hid in this rock structure for safety.  The children rose up to safety in the stars.  You can still see the claw marks on the side of the tower.
