Volcanoes
are mountains created by magma. How you ask? Like this. Magma from under
the ground gets hot, and forces its way up. Over thousands of years, a
mountain is formed. Finally, the magma makes it out, and shoots out of
the mountain, sometimes violently.
There are certain areas called hot spots, where magma is hotter and travels
faster than normally. No one knows why, but it happens. There can be small
eruptions or large eruptions. Volcanoes do give signs that they will erupt,
but sometimes they dont give a warning.
