Broken Top
                                       Oregon

Broken Top is a large and very complex stratovolcanoe. There used to be
an ampitheater at the base of it, but its gone now. The cause of it's destruction?
No, its not an eruption. Olivine lava flows surround the volcano. It is located at 44.1N Latitude and 121.7 W longitude and has an elevation of 9,185 feet! Wow!

The volcanoe's base is a large shield made of basaltic andesite. The large cone
at the top is made of mainly mafic lava flows. A mafic lava flow is composed of one
or more chief dark igneous materials. Scientists believe that it has gone dormant,
because it hasn't erupted in the last 10,000 years. It does still have lava flows thought.

There is little to no chance of human danger at Broken Top. This is because no one
lives there. But there is always that one chance, that small chance. Anyone who doesn't
know what they're doing should stay away from it.
