FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
These are the ones that keep on coming up. The where's, who's and whys. Some just don't have answers yet. For example, where did Lu Feng, Sun Chien and Wei Pai disappear to? No one seems to know, though we do have our pet theories. Noting the similarity between Wei Pai and Nic Tse, Gargoyle thinks Nic's poppa gave Wei a pair of cement shoes. BT says no, a bunch of women from the wilds of Northern China kidnapped him for breeding stock. I think he's lounging by a pool in Arizona, margarita in hand. What do you think? Is Sun Chien working as a Chippendale dancer? What about Lu Feng? Theories are welcome... Sadly, Chiang Sheng passed away from an apparant heart attack in 1991.
KUO CHUI is now professionally known as Philip Kwok Chun Fung. Following the disbanding of the Venoms, he tried his hand at directing, (Ninja's Deadly Trap) and continued acting. He also established himself as a significant martial arts and action choreographer, with credits ranging from hard core action in Hard Boiled and The Big Heat, to fantasy swordplay, in Bride With White Hair and Handsome Siblings. Kuo also choreographed the Hong Kong action scenes in the Bond 007 movie Tomorrow Never Dies. He had a cameo in that movie as General Chang. In 2000, Kuo Chui did the action choreography for the French film Le Pacte Des Loup, which was directed by Christophe Gans, and stars Mark Dacascos. This movie has been picked up by Universal for US release in the Fall of 2001!

LO MENG has also stayed busy, and lately is showing a higher profile, doing interviews and promotions for TVB. He has primarily been involved in television projects, and can also been seen in several movies. Lo had roles in Hard Boiled, (Lonnie) Ebola Syndrome and *ahem* Sex and Zen III. (No skin shown...dang it!) He stays connected with Chang Cheh and the Shaw studios, and is reputedly connected with an upcoming Shaw movie that may feature or be directed by Andy Lau. He can also be seen in the UK video of How Deep is Your Love by Dru Hill, which he and Kuo Chui choreographed.

WHERE CAN I GET VENOMS MOVIES?
One of the perplexing questions of our time! Most Shaw Studios Venoms movies are not legally in print. Sure, you can find them at websites all over the internet, on the television, even in legitimate stores such as Sam Goody and Suncoast. These are not Shaw releases. Due to the complexities of copyright law, which I won't even try to understand, sometimes these titles are up for grabs. Sadly, you will find either poor picture quality, or editing that removes significant portions of the story. That's about all for now. A bright note in the not so distant future....Shaw Studios sold their library to Malaysian tycoon Ananda Krishnan. Part of the deal is for the movies to be remastered and released on Asian cable channels and on VCD. Personally, I want mine in original language, on DVD! Sooo....here are the addresses of people to pester!
Ananda Krishnan Usaha Tegas Sdn Bhd Menara Boustead Kuala Lumpur Malaysia 603-248 2760
Regarding Licensing and old films: Shaw Brothers (HK) Pte Ltd Cosmopolitan Productions Co, Ltd Lot 220, Clearwater Bay Kowloon, Hong Kong Tel: (852) 2719-1551 Fax: (852) 2358-0526
Where can I send fan mail?
For Venoms in general, probably the best shot would be to the Shaw address above. Lo Meng and Philip Kwok still are associated (as far as I know) with TVB, and you can try sending fanmail there.
