Ah, the Red-Shirt, what a curious career choice. Even with the tricorder, he seems to die a bit too much be a main character.
Max was sent to Earth after discovering the species he had been hunting had taken refuge there. After a horrible Transporter Malfunction he discovered he had been doomed to eternity on that planet full of stupid meat-bags. Max has advanced technology that only sparingly works, in conjunction with his mysterious "trekkie powers". It's also been discovered that Max's greatest enemy is the shoe. Ages ago he was a shoe-tamer, and supposedly had a near-fatal encounter that left him traumatized. Since he dies all the time anyways, why it frightens him is also a mystery.
