Favorite Quotes:

* "We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for." -Dead Poet's Society

* "It's hard to be creative if you're not a little fucked up." -Chester Bennington

* "When all else fails, just nod your head and smile."  -Me

* "Music is not a means for another end.  Music is the end."  -Mike Shinoda

Why LP Is My Fave Band: Their music is so easy to relate to, no matter race, religion, ethnicity, culture, whatever.  It's relieving to know that I'm not the only one who's going through or has gone through the same old, monotonous crap.  I think it's absolutely amazing how the band penned the lyrics to pinpoint exactly what I'm feeling, and it's almost as if I can make the song my own, even though so many people love them.  That's the sign of true artists, those who can concoct great songs that not only make you want to get up off your ass and smile, but can speak to you one on one.

There's of bands out there right now (esp. alternative, rap metal ones) that can work a crowd or audience, but their lyrics are empty and shallow.  Sure, I'll listen to them and be entertained, but am I fulfilled?  No.  When I listen to Linkin Park, I'm more than entertained: I'm satisfied.

Secondly, as Phoenix so eloquently put it, Linkin Park is not the band that "parties harder than you do and gets more hos."  I know that it's really "popular" and almost a pre-requisite for bands in the rock industry to trash their responsibilities through drinking, drugs, sex, etc.  Even though those type of down-spiraling lifestyles are intriguing, I like the fact that LP is comfortable and confident enough in their own skin, and that they don't have to put up a huge front as "big, scary assholes" (quoted from Mike....woo, I'm quote happy).  I think it's awesome that they're secure enough with their own identities to still hold true to their values and be genuinely, nice guys, yet still find the time to make great music.

So...Why is it that you made a Rob Bourdon page?: Good question.  The main reason is pretty much that I feel bad for Rob and his fans.  There's tons of Mike pages, a lot of Chester ones, a whole bunch of Joe pages, a few for Brad and Phi Phi, but NONE for Rob!  __________(insert "Aww..." "That's so sad!" or whimpering sounds in here).  And Rob's a pretty cool guy in his own way.  Sure, he's not as talkative or funny as the others, but hey, someone who has the balls to smell chicken fricasee and live to talk about it deserves SOME recognition!  Rob's shy and quiet and kind of dorky, and it suits him very well.  Honestly, he's not my favorite; I have no favorite.  But I must say one thing: the kid is beautiful.

Woo, that was long.  Sorry.  :)
