26. THEFT

Will I be able to steal from a player in the game?

You cannot steal from a player. You cannot pick pockets. You cannot break into their home. Homes have no 'keys' - you are just the only one who can access their home. If you want to irritate someone, knock down their home. That won't give you access to their stuff, but will deny them access to their stuff till they build a new home (it spawns in it). The reason we don't have any of these things is that they are too exploitable and lead to too many bad things. If you want someone's wergild, just kill them. [If they hide in their home, knock it down then kill them.]

I always find funny is those people who *want* to play rogues. They want to be that guy who goes in and breaks into a building, pickpockets someone powerful, etc. They never think about the downside. Their buildings could get broken into. They could get pickpocketed. Etc. Never even occurs to them.
