2. RACES
I want to hear about races.
I'd have both meaningful advantages (and disadvantages) for various races. You can play one race per server (unless I get my goal and it is all one big world - then you can make more than one race per account). Different races will learn various skills more quickly than others giving them an edge. Example: Gnomes will learn 'tinkering' 10% faster than their human counterparts. Both gnomes and humans have the same hardcap. Who would deny that Leonardo was at 100% tinkering? A gnome just would have been there faster... Races will also learn some skills slower than others - in all things there is a balance.
Do classes have different languages and if so, can we have spells to translate?
There will be one language per race (example: Elvish). No emotes, other than the scripted ones will be in the game. I.e., you can /bow but you can't /em says he wants a piece of the loot. There is NO common tongue. If you want to speak to a troll, better learn Trollish or hope he knows your language. Also, some races may be physically incapable of speaking another races tongue - though they can understand what is being said, they cannot speak it and would have to use emotes to try to make themselves understood.
