What kinds of transport would you like to see in your game?

Aside from walking, jogging and sprinting I would like to see a wide variety of transport ranging from water vehicles, underwater vehicles, skiing, sledding, ox carts, balloons (see Tinker's Guild), etc. Some vehicles would even require multiple people to operate them. This would get rid of the 'tank war' nonsense we saw in WW2OL where one person could operate a tank hence nothing but tanks roam the world.

The responsiveness of the vehicle would depend on the amount of skill you had in piloting or steering them. Beginners would start out with extremely 'sloppy' controls.

Skiing?

Yes, and you take damage - possibly a fatal amount - from hitting trees, etc. Yes, you can fight while on skis but chances are good you won't be. Skiing alone would be nifty enough that downhill races could be done. It would almost be like a game in itself.

Can you fire weapons and fight while on vehicles?

Yes, but you may crash the vehicle if you work on fighting instead of steering. Some vehicles would require separate gunners, drivers, etc (see above).

Are there vehicle mounted weapons?

Yes.

Would someone on horseback get a bonus fighting a foot soldier?

In real life, they got a bit from height (usually striking the foot soldiers about the head and shoulders), some from maneuverability (horse goes at a good pace) and some from the person they were fighting fearing getting trampled by the horse (though spears negated some of that). I can see people getting all of those advantages though controlling the horse during combat could be tricky. It would depend on your 'ride horse' skill. Remember, steering would start out very sloppy. Horses (etc) have a slight advantage over motorized vehicles in that they try to avoid going off of cliffs, etc but cars rarely buck off their owners cause they got spooked.

Can you run someone over with a vehicle?

One of the joys of vehicle ownership (once the players figure out the wheel and how to make chariots, etc) is running over things. Naturally, this sort of thing is not recommended in the vehicles manual and generally causes varying degrees of damage to the vehicle. And it voids any manufacturers warranty. If you were sitting in a car and say shooting at someone with a gun and they fired back, they may hit you and/or the car. Vehicular damage is usually expensive to repair. Damage may cause the vehicle to stop running. For example, if you (out of spite) were to run over a character with your ox cart, it may injure the horses or even have the chance of having a wheel come off of the cart. Damage is automatically given to the vehicle for striking any building, character, monster or cliff.

Can I get transport and use it in the game?

I want a really high sky, really deep ground, lots of various depths of ocean. I want transports for all of those. I want players to be able to ride in mining carts, sail on ships, get risky transport on flying carpets. Steering for a lot of these would start very, very 'sloppy' and become less so the more skill you got. Having people 'morph' into horses or cars is LAME. I want separate vehicles. Don't trust your horse out on the street? Take it to a reliable stable. Keep having your horse killed when you go into combat? Cast buffs on it. Keep having your flying carpet give you an incredibly rapid descent when it is shot with arrows and then fireballed?
