7.2 Bounties
One good point that was brought up is that bounties do mean a whole lot less if you know the person will just be respawning elsewhere. I think some clever thought may be needed. What if: Jack has really made ClanCertainDeath mad. He has murdered their newbies, destroyed their buildings, molested their cattle and stole their bibles. ClanCertainDeath decides to get revenge. They go and do mighty mighty magics and make the IganteDagger. This powerfull weapon is then given to BountyBill who is told "Roxxar him wit this wpn ONLY d33d." BountyBill nods his understanding and goes off to hunt the notorious Jack. He finds jack and proceeds to get evil and hit the 'autoattack' button. A few minutes later, Jack falls dead, killed by BountyBill who used the IganteDagger. Jack respawns but *because he was killed with that particular weapon* he finds himself unable to enter the borders (even sneaking) of ClanCertainDeath for a period of time (week? month?). This means that the bounty has mattered. I don't think I'd want to make it so that the mages of ClanCertainDeath could make a dagger that would keep Jack out of any area but their own. I would also make it so that only the weapon that did the majority of damage did the effect - that would keep a team of motivated PK'ers from kicking people off of the planet. I would probably go the extra step and have the dagger created only to kill a certain person and be a one shot - that would snip off any extra griefing things. Because I wouldn't want an honest bounty hunter to get the shaft (so to speak), I'd probably have the dagger turn into a 'BloodyIganteDagger' after use - showing that it has been used on the target it was made for. That could then be turned into 'the bounty machine' to get the automated reward, put in at the beginning by ClanCertainDeath to get paid. Using daggers like this (assuming they took powerful magics, expensive stuff to make, etc) would also limit the number of contracts of this type that a clan put out.
Overall, it would be a nice way for a clan to say FOAD to someone.
