Hick Hargreaves Present Day
In 2001 Hick Hargreaves was purchased from Smiths Industries by BOC Edwards. Smiths had already sold the site to Sainsburys supermarkets so they had no choice but to relocate Hicks. After much searching for a suitable site Wingates Industrial Park at Westhoughton (which is still in the Bolton boundary) was selected, and on Friday 23rd August 2002 Hicks finished on the old site after 170 years.

This is falling into disrepair and despite employees trying to persuade previous owners to spend money on it this has not been forthcoming.
