Saturday 21.03.2003 we visited south from Andenes along the west coast road until the city on Nordmela.
You can drive around whole island of Andoy. This was not possible in Senja island, our next destination.
South from Andenes are the longest beaches in Norway, like in Hawai.
On the way there was starting points for fine hiking routes to mountains,
Seal safaris, diving and salmon fishing available.
Lunni birds you can even see in Bleikoya island out at sea.
Cloudberry picking also possible in autumn but allowed only for locals.

In the evening we went to buy whale meet directly from truck but all meat was sold out.
Surprisingly deepfreeze whale meat was for sale in shop.
When shopping very heavy fog suddenly arrived from sea.
It was difficult to drive a car and all whale safaris were cancelled.

In camping kitchen we fried whale beefs and taste was like in liver. Anyway we fried too much.
Middle of fog it was a good time to write postcards.
And hope no rain for morning when to take tent down. And hope that ferry to Senja is not full next morning.
