what is a lofi artist's book?
A lofi artist's or art book is a name coined to describe a book which exists on an artistic level, as a sculptural work. It may also exist on a textual level, per the "traditional" definition of a book, but it also incorporates artistic elements such as rubber stamps, screen printing, linoleum prints, hand-binding, hand-made paper, and collage, to make it a work of art which can stand on its own.
The idea is the same as an artist's book, but coming from a low-budget perspective. Some of us have gone to art school, some have had no formal artistic training. That's not the point. We're interested in seeing the kinds of innovative book art which can come despite (or because of) a limited budget. Recycled and found materials are game. We're more interested in your ideas than your budget.
