Mir'Djanas

Mir'Djanas is a psychopath.

He is as barmy as a slaad and at least as dangerous, or so they say. He is in no prison and the bleakers do not want him, because he is too sodding dangerous. More than nine feet of minotaur carrying a big two-headed and two-handed battle-axe is not exactly someone you want to mess with. Worst of all, in spite of all his brawn he is anything else than stupid. Mireluki el'Irand is dangerous and he knows it.

Several records in the harmonium fortresses in Arcadia indicate, that it was tried to arrest the barmy fighter. He slaughtered several squads of hardheads, before they gave up and deemed it too costly to fight him and hoped, that he never turned up in Sigil again. Of course he returned, accompanied by another dangerous blood, one Tandra Fiendslayer, almost infamous at that time. Most amazingly he behaved himself. It seemed to strange to everyone, that he did. See, Tandra was supposed to be another violent-barmy-too-dangerous-to-arrest, but she only hated fiends and was no berserk.

She was a Blood War mercenary at that time. She taught him, that he was never going to get paid, if he put those hiring him into the dead-book, before they had time to pay. While some suggested an intimate relationship between the two adventurers, Tandra had savagely beaten him up, when he tried to... Since that time he respects her, because she is the only person, who ever defeated him in any type of combat.

Did I mention, that he is barmy? This is wrong. He is as sane as the next basher (even though that might not mean much in a place like Sigil). The point is, that he is just a berserk. Of course there are a lot of reasons for him to fly into a killing rage, and most of it has to do something with blood and pain. When he is hurt, he definitely goes berserk and he also does, when he sees the blood of someone being hurt. He also ticks out, when he is insulted angered or... Well, you get the idea.

Nowadays Mir'Djanas helps his friend Tandra run the Beheaded Fiend Inn in the lower ward. He seems to be somewhat calmer now, but that may only be an illusion. On the other hand the Fiendslayer Companions recently put an abyssal lord into the dead-book. Maybe it calmed him down, at least for the time being. Maybe he found out, where his boiling rage comes from, maybe he just had the ultimate kick, defeating an abyssal lord or something. Only time will tell.

"You are ugl--"
Some berk a moment before he tasted the business end of Mir'Djanas' Axe

What is Mir'Djanas? Where does he come from?

While few ever bothered about asking him, fact is that he knows the answers of these questions, but except for him only his companions and his sister Gillian know the dark of it. Of course that does not keep folks from guessing. There are about as many theories about him as there are addle-coves who dare to rattle their bone-boxes about it. Much of the talk is just so much screed, some of it plain ridiculous, but some is not so easily discarded. Who knows? One of these theories might be right after all.

The minotaurus was once a mage, who lost his skill after he messed up some type of transformation spell, possibly an improved version of Tenser's rage. On the other hand, the berk might have cast the spell in a wild magic area, or even in Limbo. More knowledgeable bloods point to the Abyss' warping of alterations to explain, how something like this can happen. Not even the Abyss should be able to cause this amount of physical and mental detriment, just by warping a single spell. He is the result of a failed (or worse successful) magical experiment.

Only so much screed, other say. He is the son of a god. The agent of some power little known to the planewalkers, because its prime world is cut of from the planes for some reason. Why is he allowed to meddle with all types of things, even the affairs of other gods? He even changed his attitude while adventuring, something a god would never allow. The Athar just say that this proves again, that the gods are not better at keeping track of some things than anyone else. Still, a power should already have done something.

He is in truth the son of some abyssal lord and turned stag. Then the fiend was put into the dead-book, or he is too busy watching his back to teach his run-away offspring a lesson. On the other hand he might be some type of creation of some other tanar'ri or a type of abyssal fiend unique to very remote layers of the Abyss, who left his home and turned stag on the way of his kin later.

Long time exposure to the other companions changed him after that. Then again he was and possibly is too barmy to even be a tanar'ri. He seems undirected and fights everyone, who angers him. He never bothered to watch his back a lot, the way fiends always do. In spite of his violent nature he has amazingly few enemies. (Even the hardheads forgot about him).

It is all just talk. Mir'Djanas is a fallen celestial, who found too much delight in slaying fiends and was too close to becoming one of them. He was kicked out of his plane and disgraced with a form fitting his violent nature. He still loves slaying fiends, but he attacks anything that arises his ire, because he cannot control his violent nature any longer. Maybe there is some dark secret that brought about his fall. Fiends love doing that.

The newest chant claims, that a planewalker known as the Silver Raven actually is his mother. There is no proof of course. Only the fact, that he has powerful magical abilities and an unsettling gaze from his golden eyes.

Special Equipment
A really big axe. That hurts.
It is quite obvious that Mir'Djanas carries a large two-handed and double-headed battle axe with him in a cunningly cut sheath. There is nothing special about it. It might have had ornamental parts once, but heavy use eroded them all, except for a metal skull adorning the end of the handle. All that is left is a simple useful weapon, that is always in top-shelf condition. It does not seem all that special until you see him using it.
There is a catch of course. The axe cuts through everything that it has ever been used on. There does not seem to be any resistance, no matter if hits a fiend, a piece of stone or even a diamond. The weapon plain slices through it. Some whisper, that it might even be able to damage the Lady Of Pain, but not even the minotaur is barmy enough to try, and no-one else is ever going to get the thing. See, Mir'Djanas makes sure it looks used and bland on purpose. In truth it is finest shining ornamental mithral, but he does not want it to appear anything special.
The dark of it? He enchanted the thing himself. Yes, he did have formal magical training, but he never bothers with its time-consuming processes or bothers to memorise spells. Or so he says.
