LocoTronics is currently designing a electronic systems that will simulate  S.P.A.D.

This S.P.A.D. electronic system  will work, with the Colour Light Signal Electronic Controllers - it will provide full simulation of these safety systems - locomotive sensors and transducers. It will simulate loco cab - indicators and audio warnings for both A.W.S and A.T.P.

An Option will be available where S.P.A.D.  A.W.S. and A.T.P. will be incorporated into a Electronic Speed Controller; or as an additional module to work with your current Electronic Speed Controller.

Now driving your model railway will be a complete operating simulation of the prototype.

With full indicators, and alarms, and automatic braking for S.P.A.D. in either
A.W.S. or A.T.P.  configuration simulation.

The top level design spec being :-

Four levels of S.P.A.D. simulation control, operating as either a A.T.P.
or A.W.S. ( user selectable ) train system.

#1 Train passes Double Yellow ( for 4 aspect systems only)
#2 Train passes Single Yellow ( for 3 aspect systems )
#3 Train passes Red
#4 Simulated train disaster mode - with fast model locomotive emergency stop button to prevent potential damage!!!

Full cab indication and audio signals will be provided for train passes Green

The S.P.A.D. control system will configure the Signal Controllers - so
that all interlocks and Stop/Start electronics are bypassed. Simulating
mechanical failure or human error.

It will give full  loco cab - train drivers - indicators and audio warnings for both A.W.S. and A.T.P.

Railway modellers can beat the British Railway System in having a WORKING
rail safety system.
