LocoTronics was
formed eight years ago in California by a English Professional Graduate
Electronics Engineer who has been a railway model hobbyist for over 30
years; and with over 25 years experience in the British and American Defence,
AeroSpace, Computer and Electronic Industries as an Electronic System and
Design Engineer. Working on many projects :- Microprocessor controllers
for warships at British Shipbuilders, Tomahawk Cruise Missile flight mission
computer, B2 bomber flight control computer, Signal controllers for AMTRACK
( the real thing ). Electronic design for computer companies - IBM, Micropolis,
Pertec and DELL.
For those eight years the company was working as a consultant electronic design house designing microprocessor - hardware and software solutions for computer, automation, and aerospace applications.
LocoTronics moved to United Kingdom a year ago and evaluated the electronic applications within the Model Railway industry, and came to the conclusion that most of the product available were antiquated ( 20 year old plus designs and technologies), and very simplistic In functional features.
LocoTronics-- WILL LEAD THE WAY WITH ADVANCED ELECTRONICS FOR MODEL RAILWAYS.
LocoTronics - ADVANCED HIGH TECHNOLOGY ELECTRONICS FOR THE MODEL RAILWAY HOBBYIST
The following features are the design and function criteria for all LocoTronics products: -
1. New concept State machine colour signal controllers, with SPAD simulation upward compatibility incorporated
2. New concept SPAD ( Signal Passed at Danger ) full electronic simulation
3. New concept ( patented ) Flash Frequency Train Detection
4. New concept Microprocessor based Train Automation Systems, and Speed Controllers
5. New concept ( not previously available in UK or USA ) SOFT stop/start locomotive power electronics which provide accurate prototype train braking to a Gradual and gentle stop - all parameters user programmable.
Now it will be possible to operate prototypical train automation for block working and correct automatic signal control, and interlocks.
New concept electronic locomotive
controllers - with features never offered before - microcontroller data
analysis of loco parameters, fully integrated advanced power electronics,
center off options, multi track options, high current options, full inertia/brake
simulation, emergency stop control, integrated automation functions, remote
hand held controllers, and a multitude of other new concepts.
