About Me. . .
Henry Lockwood, Summer 2006
I grew up in the tiny town of Monticello, MS. There were 89 people in my graduating class.
I have a Bachelor and Masters degree from The
University of Southern Mississippi. (You may have heard of the star quarterback from my college days---his name is Brett Favre).
While a student at USM, I lived in Mexico for a semester studying
Spanish in Cuernavaca.
In addition to teaching in Mississippi, I have also taught in
Colorado Springs and Olympia, WA. They are two of the most beautiful places in the USA.
I have taught English, Spanish, and English as a Second Language. I've taught 8th-12th grade and also a year at The
Evergreen State College. This is my 13th year to teach!
This is my fifth year teaching at McNeil High School.
 I have
2 kids: Gray, who is a third grader, and Henry, who is less than a year old.
When Im not grading essays (which is usually always), I like to play soccer, practice yoga, and garden. I also read A LOT.
I am the sponsor of the McNeil Book Club.
