Mars’ Hill and the Acropolis

Sometimes a mental picture is what it takes.  I always knew what Paul did as recorded in Acts 17 took courage, but I did not understand how much.  To say those words to the greatest thinkers in the world with the Acropolis for a backdrop…all I can say is “WOW!”

In the US, we learn of the great events from approximately 227 years ago.  We point to those men who fought for what they believed in though some would argue that the colonists’ claims were unjustified or exaggerated.  Just as much as we look to that point and others in our history, the Greeks point back to over 25 centuries ago when they controlled the world.  They were it, just like we are today.  And there are lessons to be learned and people to be recognized because their contributions from so long ago still have bearing in our world today.
