I'm not really sure what this gold ball looking thing was, but it looked pretty cool. It was in the courtyard of the Vatican museums

Michelangelo did a magnificent job with the Sistine Chapel ceiling. This is the Creation of Man scene, which is the centerpiece of the ceiling.

This is Rafael's "School of Athens." In the lower left hand corner is Michelangelo. Several other well known people are also in the painting.

Though I guess it is somewhat morbid, I absolutely loved visiting the "Church of the Bones."

Everything you see, minus the robes on the monks is made out of bones.
