Documented Events Report Alling Ball Name: Alling Ball Sources, Sources: Author: Barbara Caudle Title: GEDCOM File : BARCA.gedNote: 5783 Robin StreetShoreview, MN 55126Date: 15 Apr 2004 Title: GEDCOM File : 2740549.gedDate: 26 Mar 2004 . Sources, I've been struggling with this family for a long time. And no wonder. I read the other day that a descendant who owned the Ball canning jar company hired a family history done, and the "genealogist" fudged a bunch of data. Its still out there. That may be the basis of the problems. In the "New England Marriages Prior to 1700" I found these entries: Ball, Alling (-1689) & Dorothy [?Fugill] (-1690); b 1649, New Haven, CT",meaning, I think, that Alling lived to 1689, Dorothy to 1690, and their bans were posted in New Haven in 1649. It is likely, given the marriage year, that Dorothy was born around 1630, Alling perhaps a few years earlier. This Dorothy must be your Susan Dorothy. But with different dates. Also this: "BALL, Alling (1656-1710) & Sarah THOMPSON (1654-1716); 24 Nov1678; New Haven, CT" There are also entries for other marriages in CT, probably the youngest Alling's siblings. George Ball Name: George Ball Hi Sue !! Hi SUE and to ALL Ball descendents, In reading your post dated 2002 on ancestry.com I found that I had not responded to you. I have not researched the other brothers of George Ball Sr.(b.1752 )because I am only compiling on George Sr(b.1752)because he married Elizabeth Tunnell in 1788.I "think" that Moses Ball Sr.(b.1717(was the ONLY Ball family in OLD Alexandria, Fairfax Co. Va. His father was John Ball(b.@ 1690)& was on the border of Stafford Co.& Fairfax co. Va.(You will find that info in John's "WILL that is on this site that I have sent. I "set" the page on this John Ball for you. When you view the kids of this John Ball you WON'T be descended George Sr.(b.1720)because he & his family settled in Lee Cove. In the late 1770's/ Search the children of Moses Ball Sr.(b.1717)FIRST but you WON'T be descended from two of his sons, Moses Jr.(b.1748)who went to Hawkins Co. Tn. With his wife & kids & George Sr.(b.1752)left there & went to nr.Honaker, Russell Co. Va. So this narrow's your search to one of his other sons who stayed in Fairfax Co. Va. Below is a GOOD Ball site to search. You will find a WILL for John Ball & Moses Ball Sr. As you read these Will's you can determine where they lived & it will help you in your research. Even if you DON'T find your lineage THIS will be your Ball lineage back to 1450 !!! Sincerely yours, Wilma M.(Cowsar)Brown P.S.WILL respond to ALL e-mails. P.S. Here is the GOOD Ball site that has your BALL lineage back to 1450 to Wm. Ball the LORD of the Manor in England.http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/p/r/i/James-A-Price/GENE5-0010.htm.
