DESCENDENTS OF JOHN BOGGS
Papaw and me, house rules, never call him and mamaw, grandma and grandpa!
My grandfather Cecil Emerson Ison was the best.  I lived with grandpa and grandma in Kentucky as a child for a while and I loved it.  I think that is what inspired me to do these sites in the first place, for them.  I did not want them to be forgotten.

I learned a lot from my grandparents.  Most of it was just simple down to earth common sense things, but the things that kept you firmly grounded.

My grandfather loved a good saying and he had a saying for everything.  He reminded me of a philospher on the line of Mark Twain.  He loved to read my grandfather.  I seldom saw him sitting with a book.

His favorite quote was Kentucky was the state of fast horses and beautiful women.
The sunshine's ever brightest
    In Kentucky;
The breezes whisper lightest
    In Kentucky;
Plain girls are the fewest,
Their little hearts are truest
Maidens' eyes the bluest,
    In Kentucky.
