LOCKER ABUSE

[ Home ]

Appalling as it may seem, lockers are often the victims of vandalism. This document outlines the fundamental problem of locker abuse in the modern world. Please send your support to [email protected]. With your encouragement we can put a stop to this stupidity.

Squatters

A common problem - you arrive at the office early in the morning only to find out that your locker has been taken over by a mystery invader. Your lock has been removed and replaced with an unknown (most likely second-rate) device. In such a situation, there is nothing one can do. In some cases, similar circumstances have been known to reduce grown men to tears. Surely something needs to be done.

Dehingement

As one takes a stroll down the corridor, it is hard not to take pity on those unfortunate lockers which have been unhinged by some mindless thug out for a quick fix. Not only does such vandalism reduce the functionality of such lockers, but also adds an unnecessary element of aesthetic discomfort to the office. Remember - a secure  locker is a happy locker.

Deformation

Only one step away from a full-scale dehingement, deformation of a locker is not something to be pardoned easily. With one swift kick it is possible to cause such great pain to an innocent locker. With your support, we can campaign for stronger hinges, tougher doors and improved security devices such as barbed wire and high-voltage shock mechanisms.

Overstocking

A much more passive form of locker abuse, overstocking is the name given to the procedure of loading a locker with such a great mass of books and bags that the locker itself collapses. In extreme circumstances, entire locker blocks have been known to collapse or even fall through the floor. We must raise public awareness of this danger and campaign for larger and stronger lockers.
