Links to related web sites

by Michael Tremayne

On this page, I will give all links to web sites I am aware of that relate to confinement in containers or small places. Although such confinement may be related to bondage or B.D.S.M., I will not give links to general web sites which relate to these topics, unless they include some specific material relating to confinement in containers. There are many thousands of such sites, many of them well-written and informative, far too many for me to hope to cover, and I must limit my scope in this area.
So far, most of my links are mailing lists on Yahoo Groups. I will list each link and then give a brief description of what you can expect to find there.

PLEASE NOTE:
These mailing lists and web sites do sometimes feature adult content, and, as such, feature images or text that will be offensive to some people.

LINKS

    Yahoo groups (mailing lists)
In the following links, the following annotations may apply:
            "(age)" = age-limited group;
            "(priv. arc.)" = private archives;
            "(publ. arc.)" = public archives;
"(mem. aprv.)" = membership must be approved by moderator.
"(msg. new aprv.)" = messages from new members must be approved by the moderator.
"(msg. aprv.)" = all messages must be approved by the moderator.

Bagged (age) (priv. arc.) (mem. aprv.)
Membership in this group is limited, and each application must be approved, and applicants may be asked first to explain (to the moderator) their interest in the topic. Also, I am not sure if any membership applications are being considered at present (as of February, 2005). The moderator is very strict in enforcing that all posts be on-topic, to the point of threatening to remove members who post anything that is not on-topic, and I find this attitude tends to somewhat stifle the spontaneous discussion of ideas on the group. Posts on this group are very sporadic indeed, I feel partly as a result of this policy.

Bound and Casketed (age) (priv. arc.) (mem. aprv.) (msg. aprv.)
This group is heavily into confinement in caskets or coffins, with a strong interest in being wrapped up inside the casket or coffin, and there is a strong interest in funeral fantasies, living death, and the like. The group is newer than most of the others listed here, but its moderator very enthusiastically posts on the group and encourages others to do so also, and so the group has achieved a high membership and quite active discussion very quickly. The moderator, fearing the Yahoo policy of randomly deleting adult-oriented groups for no obvious reasons, is very strict in enforcing that members' Yahoo profiles include their age, which must be 18 years or over.

        Coffin Fans (age) (priv. arc.)
This group has had very little activity so far, but does have pictures of people in caskets or coffins in its Photos section. Possibly the success of BOUND-AND-CASKETED, which covers exactly the same territory, has inhibited this group from succeeding. Still, if you're into coffins, caskets, and other funeral paraphernalia, this low-traffic group is probably worth joining and keeping an eye on.

Erotic Encasement [I] (age) (priv. arc.) (msg. new aprv.)
This group is interested in the idea of encasing women in various ways, and the interest seems to be more in posting of photographs than in discussion. I'm not sure that this group is really suitable for discussing men who wish to be encased, although I suppose you could try discussing it or posting pictures of encased men, and see how much interest you get.
It seems to be a little unclear, on this group's front page, just who can post to this group. The page does state that messages from new members must be approved by the moderator; but it also says that only the moderator can post.

Erotic Encasement III (age) (publ. arc.) (mem. aprv.)
This group is an overflow group for Erotic Encasement. Yahoo allocates a specific amount of storage space for any group, and, when a group is so active, or has so many members, that its space gets used up, it is common for the group's moderator or some other member to start a second group to allow for the storage of further material. The group is called "Erotic Encasement III" because Erotic Encasement II no longer exists, since it was deleted by Yahoo for unknown reasons.

House of Gord (age) (priv. arc.)
This group is one of the most bizarre of all, but its topic is undeniably fascinating to those with an interest in confinement. It is an adjunct to the extreme bondage site House of Gord, and is concerned largely with "Forniphilia", or human furniture - which is the construction of elaborate structures which literally create furniture (or a reasonable approximation of furniture) which incorporates - often very ingeniously - a bound woman as parts of its integral structure. (Yes, apparently only women are turned into furniture here.) This Yahoo group is the only mailing list officially sanctioned by House of Gord, so any other mailing lists which appear to be using Gord's work are not doing so with his permission. The focus of this group is on pictures of such human furniture, and the discussion of the many technical aspects and hazards of turning women into furniture if you do not have expert knowledge of how to do this safely. You can see more on these topics on the House of Gord site itself.

Live Contents 2 (age) (priv. arc.)
This group's focus is on women packed in containers such as bags or suitcases - hence the "live contents". It doesn't seem to take account of the fact that some men may like experiencing such treatment too, and I find it a bit of a put-off when a group is too strongly oriented to just one of the sexes, and prefer a non-sexist approach myself - which may simply show that I completely miss the point of what the group's creator intended the group to be about, and what audience he or she was intending to attract.
Live Contents and Live Contents I were deleted by Yahoo some time ago, so only Live Contents II is now left.

Living Furniture (age) (priv. arc.) (mem. aprv.)
Like the House of Gord mailing list described above, this group's focus is on forniphilia. It has less discussion and more posting of pictures than that other group, though; perhaps you can encourage discussion if you join and would like to see more discussion. Bear in mind that, if you join the group, attachments are allowed to postings, and so you will receive huge e-mails from time to time on this group, sometimes close to 1 Mb.
The group is a replacement for earlier groups called Living_Furniture and Living_Mail, which got deleted by Yahoo.

        Locked Inside (age) (priv. arc.)
This is a new group started by myself. Nothing is happening here yet, and no-one other than myself has joined yet; but I created it both to reserve the name for the group and to set up its structure. I am hoping to attract members and encourage discussion about all matters claustrophilic or confinement-related. If you're reading this and are interested, please join and say hallo, and tell us of your interests or experiences, or ask any questions you may like to discuss. With your help, we can make this group lively and interesting, as we all seek like-minded people to share our ideas with.
Please read more detail about this on the Locked Inside page on this site.

        Locker Fun (age) (priv. arc.)
This is the group I have been most active on, as it coincides more closely with my own interests than most of the other groups do. It is quite specifically about people being locked in lockers, and regards general locker-room talk as off-topic, and discourages this. Also pictures showing nudity are forbidden (you will get banned for posting such pictures), and the attitude of the group appears to be towards general fun and pranks concerned with locking people in lockers. If you find this erotic, and wish to post here, I would not stress the erotic aspect too strongly, at least until it becomes apparent how acceptable this aspect is on this group. The group started slowly a few years ago, picked up considerably, but seems to have gone quiet again.

Mummy Case (age) (publ. arc.) (msg. new aprv.)
This is not as overtly a fetish group as much as most of the others listed here, and its stated aim is to examine the physiological and psychological aspects of prolonged and extreme sensory deprivation and immobilization, or mummification - although I suspect the desire to investigate this could, for some people, itself be of fetishistic interest, and personally I think it would be very difficult to separate these two aspects from each other.
However, the group's introductory notice does attempt to discourage posts of a fetishistic or sexual nature ("this is not a place to discuss sexual kinks"), although it might be difficult to enforce this, since it's very difficult to see where the boundary over which it becomes sexual actually lies, and people may have different opinions on this. But it is certainly a group to follow if you are interested in this - but watch what you say of a too obviously sexual nature.

New Crazy Places (age) (publ. arc.) (mem. aprv.)
This group is a resurrection of the earlier groups "Crazy Places", "Crazy Places II", and "Crazy Places I" (in that order), which became victims of Yahoo's rather mysterious but oppressive policy of deleting adult-oriented groups without warning and without any particular reason that anyone ever gets to hear about. Its focus is on people getting into "crazy places" - that is, places of all sorts that are not intended for human occupancy, such as washing machines, clothes dryers, garbage bags, and also containers of interest to this web site such as lockers or suitcases.

PermBondage (Permanent Bonds) (age) (priv. arc.) (msg. aprv.)
I don't normally link to regular bondage sites unless they have an element of confinement in containers to them - but this group has an unusual focus on permanent bondage, which could be an intriguing theme to explore - with respect to being locked in containers, as well as to normal methods of bondage. If "bondage" be taken as meaning any form of restriction, then maybe the theme of permanent containment or permanently being locked up would be on topic for this group. However, it is not a very active group; so anyone who wishes to explore this theme may like to join the group and raise issues to discuss, prod a bit of activity into the group.

        Sack Bondage (age) (publ. arc.)
This group may have started out with the posting of pictures, and some discussion of, people tied up in sacks and bags of various kinds - but the group has apparently been neglected by members, and seems to be a growing area of spam. Take a look, and see what you think, before joining. I suspect there is no moderator active on this group any longer.

Suitcase Stories (priv. arc.) (msg. new aprv.) (* see below)
This is the other group I am mainly interested in (along with "Locker Fun"). It encourages the posting of pictures and stories about people being packed into suitcases, but has fallen very inactive in recent months. The erotic element (if there is one) is not stressed, and pictures showing nudity are banned.

Trunk Stories (priv. arc.) (msg. new aprv.) (* see below)
This appears to be a fun group focusing on stories or pictures of people locked in car boots or trunks. One of the members with a special interest in being confined in car boots has posted (in the Files section) stories of his own experiences in car boots, and posted a file of safety hints in playing around with car trunks.
(And, by the way: a car boot and a car trunk are exactly the same thing; in my own country of Australia, "boot" is the universal term, and the one I normally use myself - but in this group, and in any other on-line places where this topic has been discussed, usage seems to universally follow the U.S. term "trunk" - and, in posting to these forums, I have sometimes adopted this usage also. I won't discuss this a lot on this site, since I have not had much experience with being inside car boots; but, if I do and my usage varies between "boot" and "trunk", this is why.)

Notes on Yahoo groups listed above:

            (age) = age-limited group:
A group marked thus is in the adult section of the Yahoo Groups site, and to gain entry, you must go through a screen where you press a button to indicate that you are over 18. (Press "backspace" to return to group description.)

            (priv. arc.) = private archives:
Groups marked thus have private archives - that is, only members of the group can read them. This is the usual situation for groups with adult content, because of the fact that the content is often sensitive, socially, and members often wish to have considerable privacy. (Press "backspace" to return to group description.)

            (publ. arc.) = public archives:
IMPORTANT NOTE: Groups with this notation have publicly available archives - that is, anyone can read them without having to be a member. You may wish to bear this in mind while deciding what to post to such a group, and whether to post under your real name or not. (Press "backspace" to return to group description.)

(mem. aprv.) = membership must be approved by moderator:
This means that, when you join the group, you are not automatically made a member by the Yahoo system; instead, your application goes to the owner or moderator of the group, and you become a member only if that person decides to permit it, and informs you by e-mail that you have been approved. (Press "backspace" to return to group description.)

(msg. new aprv.) = messages from new members must be approved by the moderator.
Messages from new members must be approved by the moderator; then, when the moderator decides that your messages don't need to be mokderated any longer, because you can be trusted to post on topic, not to send spam, etc., your posts will stop being moderated, and will be automatically posted when you send them.

(msg. aprv.) = all messages must be approved by the moderator.
All messages must be approved by the moderator before they are posted to the group.

            * (Suitcase Stories and Trunk Stories):
July, 2005: I recently discovered that these two groups no longer have a moderator, because his Yahoo profile and e-mail account have been deleted either by Yahoo or by himself. (The moderator for both groups was the same person.) This means that no-one has any control of the group, which in turn means that no-one can change the settings, remove spam messages that get posted, and so on. Established members can still post members, and new members can join; but unfortunately those new members probably cannot post messages, but only read material posted by others, because it appears that the group settings (which cannot be changed owing to the lack of a moderator) are such that new members cannot post until they submit a post and it is approved by the moderator as legitimate. So it is a real Catch-22 situation. (This is one reason why I started a new group, Locked Inside.)
It is my impression that groups which have lost their moderator tend to go to seed, and gradually get taken over by spam, because there are no members with the power to do anything about it. So it will be interesting to see what happens with these groups in the future. (Press "backspace" to return to group description.)

    Gromet's Plaza
Comprehensive bondage site, with much material on self-bondage, and some on being locked in containers, including the following sections:

        Packaged Stories
Fictional bondage stories with a focus on people being locked or tied inside containers.

        Gromet's Forum
Bulletin board run by Gromet, related to bondage topics. You must join before you can post messages, but anyone can read messages.
A caution may be in order here for users of old software and/or computers. I haven't visited this site for some time, and, when I tried to do so while writing this page, it crashed my computer (not my browser - my computer). It may be relevant that I am using an I.B.M. ThinkPad laptop from 1998, and using Internet Explorer ver. 4, and will be continuing to do so until I ultimately switch to a Linux-based system (which itself will only follow once I sort out certain problems on the alternate (much newer) computer).
Now my current computer and software have been increasingly giving me problems with a wider range of web sites, including very often on forums like this - so I have no reason to believe that there is anything wrong with the forum, but, rather, I believe it is likely that newer software is being used for running such forums (and other web sites) which doesn't agree with my software for some reason (maybe just because it's old - or maybe I have a corrupted program file).
So I don't want to scare anyone off here; but, just in case this problem is not unique to me, I might caution particularly those using old hardware and/or software to save everything before using the link, and just basically to act as if their computer might be about to crash, and to take the appropriate precautions. If it doesn't crash, then fine, and you can go ahead and use the site. I give this caution just to save a few people from losing files they have neglected to save before their computer crashes.
