Dawn crept over the unnaturally quite town of Sunnydale with brilliant colors that made any picture pale in comparison. The tiny fingers of the sun's rays were reached out to sleeping world. Spike shifted in his sleep, snuggling closer to the soft, warm body lying on top of him. Purring contently, Spikes eyes lazily opened, his blurred vision caught sight of the fiery sun rising and Willows tiny pale face. His whole body stiffened as he realized how close dawn was and they were still out on her balcony. Spike slowly stood up, lifting Willow off him and into his arms. He fumbled with the balcony door for a few minutes before getting her successfully inside. She was still wrapped up in his duster and snoring softly so Spike just laid her onto of the bed. Spike knew dawn was approaching but he took a few moments to study her. She looked so young and innocent in her sleep. Her wisdom and intelligence sometimes made Spike forget she was just 16. He quickly grabbed a piece of paper from her desk and scribbled a note to her in his unique penmanship. Placing a small green box on top of it he set it by her alarm clock so he was sure shed get her present and his note. Locking the balcony doors he bounded down the stairs and out the front door, making it to the sewers just in time. As he disappeared into the black gloom he watched from a safe distance as the sun banished the dark away and usher in the light and a new day.
Spike was careful not to step in the muck of the sewer, the stench was awful and hed have to take a bath soon. Pushing up the heavy gate to get into the mansion he halted, the smell of Drusillas blood assaulted his sense. He gracefully leapt up from the sewers and onto the cement floor. Bending down he gingerly placed his hand on the floor- it came up soaked with blood. Squinting into the darkness Spike could see it was trail, leading off into the shadows. He quietly closed the door, following the trail. As he approached his room he heard whimpering coming from the corner, the mournful wails of scared animal. Spike stopped dead in his tracks, huddled naked in the corner was Drusilla, her body badly beaten and cut. Fresh bit marks littered her pale body. The amount of blood that surrounded her was insane, only a true monster could have done this. Spikes thoughts were interrupted when Drusillas eyes met his. Spike, she whispered.
Yea baby Spike quickly made his way to bend in front of her.
Suddenly Drusilla panicked, Oh William forgive me, I d-dint mean to. I didn't want to but he made me, made the little pixies tell him. Im still your princess right? Her voice was pleading and desperate.
Of course ducks, nothing will change that. Spike reached out to comfort her, what in the world was she talking about? Crouching closer Spike gingerly reached out to cup her face but Drusilla suddenly became hysterical.
Jumping up fast she screeched, Snake in the wood shed, snake in the wood shed! Tumbling backward Spike suddenly found himself in a steel grip. Someone has been a naughty boy, William. Keeping secrets Tisk Tisk Those were the last words Spike heard along with Drusillas terror filled screams before a blinding pain seared though his skull and blackness enveloped him
Willow groaned as her alarm clock screeched to life next to her. Reaching out blindly for it she knocked over a lamp and cold glass of water. Shooting up suddenly and letting out a very Un-Willow like word usage she tried to dry herself and the bed but to no avail. Glancing around her room for something to soak up the wetness she found nothing. Bloody wonderful, not a towel Sweeping over her room once more, dark green eyes caught sight of Spikes present and she let loose a squeal. She quickly picked up the letter scanning over it:
Sorry to leave you this morning, pesky sun and all you knowI hope you enjoy your present and all that rot. Ill pick up my duster tonight. Thanks for the Ice Cream and chitchat.
Yours eternally,Tossing the note aside Willow quickly unwrapped the gift and gasped in surprise. Sitting nestled down in the silk was an ornamentally carved emerald pendant. The star shaped jewel sat in a silver setting with a dainty silver chain. As she held it gingerly in her hands she could tell it was quite old, perhaps predating Spike himself. She quickly adorned it and got ready for school; gather everything Xander would need for Oz sitting tonight. It was his time of the month, a phrase which Spike found amusing to no end. Shaking her head Willow laid Spikes duster out on the kitchen table where he would easily find it when he came for it tonight. With one final glance Willow left her house, the jade locket gleaming in the bright light of the day.
Howls of pain echoed off the old mansion walls that seemed to relish the agony that reverberated within its dusty walls. The smell of scorched flesh and blood tainted the atmosphere already littered with anguish, darkness and hate. In the corner Drusilla sat rocking back and forth, surrounded by her dolls. She was carefully tying red ribbons around each of their eyes and turning them away from the ghastly scene before her. Shh my pretties you shouldnt watch this, tisint proper for a lady. Her tiny words were drowned out by the agony Angelus was inflicting on his youngest childe. Heavy shackles were bound tightly around each of Spikes wrist and pulled taunt. He was naked from the waist up, his well-muscled chest luminous with his own black blood. His muscles sagged, no longer able to hold up to Angelus unique torturing methods for most of the day. He heard the sickening crunch of bones as his wrist snapped, unable to hold his body weight. It would be sundown soon.
Xander strolled into the Library, loudly announcing his presence to the tiny group that had gathered. Willow sat in Ozs lap, one hand around her stomach, the other gently caressing her hair. Twin green eyes shown with content and happiness. Buffy watched the pair with envious eyes, she was all alone-lost. So Wills, seen Cordelia? Willow shook her head and Xander asked Buffy, You?
Thankfully no, replied Buffy, smiling brightly at Xander. Im sure shell be here soon, her waxing appointment probably ran over timeyou know how it is. Rolling her eyes Buffy succeeding in getting a giggle from Willow.
A few moments later Cordelia strutted into the library looking royally pissed off. Mrs. Calendar was supposed to meet me to help with computers this after noon and she didnt show. Then when I ask the office they tell me she didnt show up for school today, I mean hello! I have important things to dojeez! With a flip of her hair Cordelia landed gracefully in her chair. Looking around at all the incredulous stares she asked, What?
The hours passed and sundown was approaching rapidly. Giles had already divided out the jobs; Buffy was to patrol and try to get some information from Willie (which usually resulted in a few broken finger and maybe legs, depending on the slayer's mood.) Willow and Cordelia were going to the magic shop for supplies and then to Giles to research on Acathla while Xander stayed and watched over Oz. Willow snickered remembering her conversation with Xander earlier that day.
Are you sure youll be ok watching Oz? Willow asked, concerned that Xander wouldnt be able to take care of Oz.
Uh, no worries. I can handle the Oz Full Monty. I mean, not 'handle' handle, like 'hands to flesh' handle. Xander stuttered, turning an interesting shade of purple.
Okay. Well, it's not for you. It's for me, 'cause I'm still getting used to half a Monty.
Xanders eyes seem to grow huge as Willow spoke, Oh. God. Half? You and Oz? Which half? Smiling smugly Willow turned to walk away throwing the last sentence over her shoulder with a wink, Wouldn't you like to know?
Shaking her head at Xander, Willow knew everything would always be ok if she had him. Giles looked around the group and was growing increasingly anxious. Jenny had yet to show, it wasnt like her. She was always on time and when he went by her house no one was home, yet all the lights were on. Giles couldnt stand it any longer, he spoke up, UmIm quite concern for Mrs. Calendar, I havent seen her all day and she wasnt home. Did any of you children happen to speak to her or. Everyone shook their heads, sad eyes watching Giles. For once the Scooby gang and Library was deathly silent; their open stares were enough to tell Giles what had happened to Jenny-Angelus.
He was so weak, so fragile-even with the demon inside he was deteriorating. The glazed eyes told him his childe wasnt there anymore, only the demon was. Its hungry gaze watched Jenny who was bound to the chair a few feet away from him. Angelus walked around her, his hands dancing over the skin of her neck as he spoke, Hungry William? Spikes lethargic gaze never left Jennys neck as his sire spoke to him. The yellow tinted gaze was focused so intently at what it needed that the blow to his back surprised him. You will look at me when I speak to you. Spikes eyes met his sire and for a brief second they flashed blue. Now then William, I do believe its time for you to have a snack, after all I can only torture you so much before you die and I still have way to much fun planned for us. Walking briskly over to Jenny, Angelus picked her up roughly from the chair and dropped her to the floor. Her head met the concrete floor with a sickeningly wet thud. Her skin looked pale and her black hair floated about her head like halo. Giving her an almost gentle nudge with his boot Angelus laughed, his chide still didnt get it. Jennys head rolled over to the side, exposing a vicious bite mark, crimson blood dribbling out of the twin holes. Sorry ol pal, it looks like were all out. Laughing cruelly, Angelus bellowed out to the minions and instructed them to take Jennys body.
Drusilla, baby, come to daddy, Angelus instructed the raven-haired vampire. Placing her dolls on the floor she obediently obeyed Angelus wishes, wanting nothing more then to please him. He kissed her gently and brought his hand up to her neck, his nail slicing her delicate skin, drawing blood. Drusilla gave him a confused look but Angelus smiled at her. After what seemed like an eternity of silence he poke, Now I want you to turn around and cover your eyes. Daddys got you a little present. Squealing with delight Drusilla did as she was told, while Angelus quickly released Spike from his bonds. Pulling Spike hard against his chest, Angelus whispered in his ear, Go on boy Leaping out of Angelus chest Spike brutally pushed Drusilla to the floor, his body pinning hers to the ground that only moments ago was occupied by Jennys body. Drusillas screams of betray were far worse then any Spike had heard before. He watched in muted horror, unable to control his demon, as he fed from Drusilla. Angelus laughter rang out loudly, screeching of malignant power.
It was a few hours after Dusk when Buffy discovered Mrs. Calendars body outside of Willies bar. Two of Angelus minions were dropping the body off. Buffy felt uncontrollable anger well up in her and she rushed the vampire, staking one and slamming the other up into the wall. Pulling out a stake she pressed it over his heart, her hands shaking slightly but the vampire was to petrified to notice that. Who killed her? She asked loudly, drawing some attention from the bar. A-Angelus the vampire stammered moments before he turned to dust. Buffy dropped to the floor, cradleing her teachers head in her lap. How was Buffy going to tell Giles Jenny was gone? Tear filled blue eyes looked up at Willie, Will you call it in, I dont want her- I dont want her to be here all night Willie nodded mutely as he watched the slayer leave, reaching for the phone and dialing the number Buffy wanted.
Buffy stood outside of Giles apartment for what seemed like forever, she couldnt bear to watch Giles face crumple as she told him. Her hands ran over the Spanish designs on the door, trying to buy time she didnt have and erase the memories that would never leave her. Taking a deep breath she placed her hand on the knob and entered Giles apartment. She saw Willow and Cordelia lying on Giles couch side, by side, smiling and laughing to each other. Suddenly Willow looked up at Buffys ashen face and quickly jumped to her friend. Buffy, everything ok? Shaking her head Buffy pulled Willow close to her in a tight hug whispering softly, Mrs. Calendar s deadI need to talk to Giles, can you and Cordelia Willows face crumpled, her bottom lip quivered slightly, she could only stare at her friend. Her body trembled slightly as she watched her friend, tears falling down her cheeks as she grabbed Cordelia off the couch and headed upstairs to Giles bedroom. Amazingly Cordelia kept her mouth shut and followed, she knew something was wrong. Giles emerged from the kitchen carrying two mugs of tea and stopped short when he saw Buffys grief stricken face. Rushing over to her he asked her if everything was all right. Giles, sit downI need to tell you something Buffy watched as her watchers face tightened and fear flashed in his eyes. Taking a seat on the couch he watched Buffy anxiously his jaws clenching. Tonight I-I went to talk to Willie and when I was leaving I found two v-vampiresa body. I stopped them but she was already gonethey had Jenny Tears slipped down Buffys face as she watched one of the men she loved the most beside Angel break down. The cups of tea Giles held crashed to the floor and his hands trembled. Upstairs Willows shuddered and turned to Cordelia to tell her. Just as she finished the most horrifying sounds emanated from below them.
Giles shook his head and looked at Buffy, tears slipping down his face. No the strangled sob escaped his lips as he pitched forward into his slayers arms. Buffy embraced Giles just like the countless times hed done for her. She ran her hands down his back, trying to sooth the man before her. She couldnt bear to watch him hurt, hed been so strong for all them before and it didnt seem fair he should be in so much pain. Giles hold on Buffy didnt slacken and Buffy knew then what she had to do. Holding each other, sobbing on the couch Buffy and Giles cried for their lost loves.
Spike awoke slowly, brilliant colors exploded in front of his eyes as he moved to shield his face from the bright light. As soon as Spikes hand touched his forehead he realized he was free, no restraints holding him back. He rubbed his wrist, looking over his body and observing all his cuts were gone. Glancing over at the body next to him he scrambled away. It was Drusilla; she was still bloody, her neck torn at viscously, the blood soaking the beautiful Victorian dress. Spike observed he was perfectly clean, bathed and fed. A sick feeling washed over him as he ran his fingers though his hair, sinking to the floor. The message Angelus sent was quite clear. He was finished with Drusilla and was only beginning with Spike.
The next day at school passed without incident, word of Mrs. Calendars death spread thought he school like wildfire and Willow was sent to take over Mrs. Calendars computer class until a replacement could be found. When Principle Snider spoke to her that morning Willow observed even he seemed slightly disturbed. Hugging her books even closer she didnt know if she could bare losing Oz. When the gang met in the Library they were silent, their thoughts on Giles and his loss. Jenny was only part of their circle for a small amount of time but shed made an impact. Cordelia sat in Xanders arms, the pair was silent, merely holding onto each other and enjoying their company. Willow snuggled deeper into Ozs embrace, goddess how she loved him!
Oz smiled at the redhead on his lap, she made every part of him come alive and tingle with something hed never know. She was his other half, he accepted her fully just as she did him. He accepted the way she babbled, her innocence, her love and her soul. He knew that right then hed do anything for her, hed die for her. Glancing up Oz suddenly realized Buffy was missing, Anyone see Buffy?
Spike made his way down the empty halls to his room; he couldnt sleep in the same bed with Drusilla, not after what hed done to her. The familiar feeling Spike got when his sire was around was tickling at his sense. Stopping in the hallway he knew Angelus was behind, yet he refused to run and give Angelus that satisfaction. Smiling Angelus knew William sensed him; his whole body going ridged the second he was near. He watched in fascination as Spikes muscles tensed the second his cool hands made contact with his neck. Running his fingers over Spikes shoulder and down his back he whispered, Its been over 100 years boy. Letting his sentence drop Angelus pushed Spike roughly against the wall, pressing his hardness into him. He buried his face in Spikes neck, inhaling his sent. Placing his hands on either side of Spikes head, he leaned in to nip at his neck, barley drawing blood, yet it was enough to assure he had his Childes attention.
Spike tired to buck his sire off, never one to go without a fight, but Angelus only smiled. He was much older and stronger than the vampire he held pinned against the wall. Angelus knew it was a futile attempt and it only fueled his desire to reclaim his Childe. Spike felt his Sire change and his fingers intertwined in his hair, jerking his head back roughly exposing his throat. Angelus savagely sunk his fangs deep into Spikes throat, drinking greedily. Pulling away with a gasp Angelus could smell Spikes arousal and quickly rid him of his jeans. Pulling down his own pants Angelus entered his childe in one swift movement, delighting in the cry of pain that made its way from Spike mouth. Offering his wrist to his childe he only had to wait a moment before he felt the exquisite pleasure of his Childe feeding from him. Spike hated himself for enjoying his Sire, hated the weakness his Sire held over him. Yet it was so powerful and so hard to resisted that he gave in. Moaning Spike closed his eyes and imagined back in time to when things with Angelus had been good. He could picture the bedroom they had shared in Italy. The fine mahogany wood gleamed, polished to a shine and smooth to the touch. The velvet sheets felt so good wrapped around their tangled bodies. The dying candles or the lack of light didnt bother the twos lovemaking. They were too involved in one another and the pleasure they were bringing each other to care or notice. Spike could remember the feel of Angelus mouth around his cock as he brought him to heights hed never imagined and the taste of his Sire as he returned the favor. It was too much, Spike gasped, shivering in pleasure.
They came together breathing heavily and panting. The cold concrete beneath their naked bodies reminded Spike of where he was and he quickly released his hold on his Sires wrists. Angelus chuckled against Spikes throat, lapping the blood that still oozed from it. Pulling away he admired the lashes on Spikes back and angry bit mark that marred his perfect body. Those marks professed who Spike belonged to- Spike was his. Spike slowly picked himself up only to find Angelus weight pushing him down. The dark haired vampires voice was low and husk when he spoke, Who am I William? Spike didnt answer, even when Angelus growled in warning. Moving to the other side of his childes neck he sunk his fangs in.
My Sire Spike called out hoarsely, so soft was his voice that if it hadnt been for Angelus vampiric hearing he would have missed it. Angelus only wished he could see his younger companions face distort with the pain he was causing but the pain in his voice was good enough for him now.
And what are you?
This time Spike response was quick. YoursYours.
Good boy Angelus purred, nibbling on Spikes ear as he spoke in hushed tones to his Childe. Curling up on the ground Angelus pulled Spike against him, drifting off to sleep with him until Sundown came and then, then hed find Willow.
