Willow rubbed her temples. The information professor Dumbledore had left her was intense. A mad wizard that had somehow become immortal. And she was the one who was supposed to train these children to defend themselves. Oh boy, her work was cut out for her. She absentmindedly ruffled Jesse's ears. Where was she to start. She had only been in the magic world for a day and already she seemed to be immersed in a plot against the world. Life didn't seem to change for her.
She moved towards the bed. Well, she thought, at least tomorrow I'll get to meet this famous Harry Potter. The only person to go up against this Voldemort and live. That should be interesting. As she was getting into bed she heard a soft tapping on the window. An owl was perched on the ledge with a note tied to it. She opened the window to let it in and retrieved the message.
**Dear Willow, I'm glad you've decided to take the job. I have explained your absence here to the others. They understand but would like you to visit. I hope all goes well and please say hello to Hagrid for me. Lots of love. Giles.**
She smiled softly at the note and gave her thanks to the owl that had delivered it. Once it was gone she got into her bed and fell asleep instantly.
The following morning she ate breakfast in her room and pottered about murmuring to herself and Jesse until there was a soft knocking at her door. She went over to it and opened it slowly. A tall man with receding ginger hair stood in front of it. He beamed down at her. "Hello" He said, "My names Arthur. I've come to take you to Hogwarts, well at least to the train anyway."
She couldn't help but smile back at him. "Hello, I'll just grab my stuff and Jesse and I'll be right down."
Arthur nodded and turned to go back downstairs, then turned back, "You don't need any help do you? I mean carrying your things downstairs?"
She looked up at him and smiled. "Oh no, I think I can manage". Half an hour later she arrived downstairs with her luggage. Jesse was sitting once again on her shoulder. He seemed to have taken up residence there.
Arthur came over and picked up her bags, "Oh, My" He grinned, "You did it the muggle way, oh I'll have to do that". And instead of using magic he carried the luggage to the door of The Leaky Cauldron. "The kids and my wife are in the car. We'll introduce you then. "
Willow had a bemused look on her face as she followed the odd magician out to his car. It looked like an ordinary car. Nothing about it seemed out of the ordinary. But considering it's size there seemed to be an inordinate amount of space. There were four children in the back. Mrs. Weasley sat in the front, as, she assumed Mr. Weasley would as well. She wasn't sure she would be able to fit in but when she opened the back door she found there was, strangely, a lot of space beside the four children. An owl hooted softly in the boot of the car.
One of the children, a girl of about 14 was holding a ginger cat. Jesse leapt off Willow's shoulder to investigate. The girl smiled and looked up. "Hi, I'm Hermione and this is Harry" She pointed to the young teenager with uncontrollable hair and glasses, "Although you probably know who he is, everyone does. These" She said as she pointed to the two remaining children "are Ron and Gilly Weasley".
Willow said hello to all of them. "To be honest" She began, "Until last night I had no idea who you were Harry, now of course I know. Congratulations on beating Vordemort. It sounds like he was a tough cookie". There was an intake of breath when she mentioned Vordemort. It was not a name mentioned often in polite company, but Willow being more of a muggle than a witch was unaware of this.
