Dark Arts: On The Way

Two nights later Willow was awoken by a soft tapping at her window. Moving quietly she got out of bed and looked out. Hovering in front of the window was the same snowy owl that had dropped the newspaper in front of her before. She opened the window and it flew in. As it landed on the bed she noticed there was a small package attached to its leg. She bent down and detached it. A role of parchment unfurled.

Professor Dumbledore of Hogwarts school of Magic Requests your attendance for interview on the 2nd of September at 2.30. The interview will take place in the Leaky Cauldron Off Diagon Alley.

Please reply promptly.

"Promptly" Willow muttered, "Where on Earth is Diagon Alley. It sounds as if I should know of it". Willow shook her head slightly in confusion, "I'll have to go see Giles". She was about to get back into bed when the owl hooted softly. "Oh I'd forgotten about you" She said as she ruffled its feathers, "Are you meant to take a reply back". The owl hooted again as if in agreement. "Ok, hold on a sec while I find a pen"

If I can find out where Diagon Alley is, and can get there I will attend

Willow Rosenberg

She attached the message to the Owl and ruffled its feathers again. "There you go" she moved out of the way as the owl made to fly out the window. It circled her room once and then left.

The next day she went to the Magic Shop quite early in an attempt to find Giles alone. However Anya was there as well. Speaking softly to Giles she asked, "Where is Diagon Alley?, and how do I get there by the 2nd of September?"

Anya had overheard as she was taking money from a customer, "Have a nice day" she smiled and the turned to Willow. "Ooooh Diagon Alley I haven't been there in so long. Although Knockturn alley was where I did most of my shopping.. Wizards, a wonderful breed of people".

Willow turned to look at her. "You know Diagon Alley do you know how to get there??".

Anya grinned, "Oh sure you just stick your wand out and a bus will take you there."

"But I don't have a wand" Willow moaned, "How am I going to get there".

Giles thought about it. "hmmm, there might be a port-key around here, or you could use floo powder. Actually that's probably the quickest way. And we're bound to have some around here.. All you need is a fireplace, with a good roaring fire." Giles rummaged around behind the counter before pulling a bag triumphantly from behind the counter. "Right all we need is a fire" he stated.

"Angel's" Willow said, "I mean the old mansion over on Crawford St.".

Giles nodded, "Right off we go then". Giles and Willow left leaving the shop in Anya's ever-capable hands.

Once they got to the mansion they lit a fire and waited for the blaze to pick up. "Before you go Willow" Giles began, "You'll need to know some things. When you get there our money isn't used. You will have to convert it into gold and sickles when you get there, oh and watch out for Knockturn Alley. Anya did most of her shopping there when she was a demon. Ah the fires going, right here's what you do. Step up to the fireplace, throw some powder in and say clearly Diagon Alley. It'll take you straight there. Oh mind you keep your elbows in" That said he handed her some powder.

Willow stepped up to the fire, threw the powder in and said "Diagon Alley". With a whoosh she disappeared leaving Giles behind.
