Finally, Lizzybeth was in Valdosta for the weekend...our mission was to get her drunk and show her that our little town was so much more than JP's bumping and grinding, it was actually fun most nights. But that wasn't tonight... So we started off by watching "Pretty Woman" to get us all in the mood to be beautiful, and then it was 9:30 and we had no plans...and no ride. (Such a trauma to be stuck in East Bumblefuck with no car...) After checking that Lizzybeth was really getting ready (we sent her off halfway through the movie because she's so slow) and calling B to see if he was going out, we finally decide that Lizzy will drive to JP's and then not drink and drive to Bungalow's, where we'll leave the car and get a ride home from B's brothers...that's what pledge DDs are for right? So off we go to JP's at 11 for ladies night (if you're in the mood to drink fast and cheap, this is the way to do it....but the place is shitty, and for some reason tonight the crowd was Mexican and thug....not so good) and we stay the hour, but I have been out of the Valdosta bar scene for a few weeks, and I'm really over this, so I pour my third drink into Anna's cup (yes dear, we all like you better drunk...) and we all go dance in the back room ghetto...only the boys there are Mexican thugs too...eww! After about 10 minutes of air grinding, Lizzy and I rescue Anna and Jimmy from the lad drowning up with beer he refused to put down (I finally grabbed it from him because the bottom of my pants were so wet! And they had only danced 2 minutes...) and left early for Bungalow's...it should have all our Sigma Nu boys there, they are always fun. But as we're calling B on the drive over there, we keep getting his voicemail, and when we get to Bungalow's, it's kinda quiet. Where is everyone this weekend? Did they miss the memo, Lizzybeth is actually in town and ready to party! I even got excited to see Hunter when we got there because I figured that meant a group of Sigma Nus...it didn't. Well, we mingle a little, try to have fun...but then Mr. Balding Moody Air Force Base comes up to us with a worse line than "How tall are you?" (and that one's hard to beat!) He stumbles into our group of 5 girls and ask Jeanmarie if she is Krystal...such an obvious line. He apologizes, calls himself a dumbass, and instead of leaving, asks if all of us are in a sorority...strike 2 buster. More of the same apologies, then an explaination of how he's supposed to meet people, but they haven't shown up so he's alone...nice tactic, make yourself sound desperate. Then he pulls over a friend to introduce to us...I thought he was alone? And the friend decides Anna and Jimmy are lesbian lovers...time to leave! Valdosta is a bust tonight...what would make the night better than breakfast at Steak and Shake? Saddest moment yet? We had to come back to the dorms and wait for 45 minutes before they even started serving breakfast at Steak and Shake...we left the bars before 1 am on a Friday night! I'm such a failure to the Lynch alcoholism tradition Oonagh.... Anyway, we all headed back out, clad in pajamas and feeling great, to go eat our breakfast at 2 am...and on the way home, we run into Tyler, just off of DD duties at the Kappa Sig house. So on the long journey back to Langdale from Oak Street Lot, we discuss our sad sad night with Tyler...and then we see the sprinklers...they had attacked Anna and Jimmy at 4 am yesterday, they wouldn't get us all again! We tried to avoid them by going up by Hopper Hall, but they cut us off at the end, so we timed it carefully and ran like mad to get past them...with Tyler leading the pack! So much for our strong male protector...but then they were back outside our dorm...Imagine the view the poor boy had while holding the door open for us...4 PJ wearing chicks and a super sleepy guy running from sprinklers that weren't even making our area of the sidewalk damp...yea, we're intellegant college kids. Oh well, tomorrow is another day, and it's an afternoon game, so we can start by tailgating early! Who wants to help us show Lizzybeth a good time in Valdosta? (Careful boys, if you try for TOO good of a time, we'll have to sick Mama on you...even though he's off scrumping Terri and camping this weekend...) |
