So Saturday had basically been a waste of a day...we all slept until about 2, ate our Chick-fil-a, and then lay around watching movies the rest of the afternoon. Finally at 7, I HAD TO get out of my Langdale box...B and I went off to find a laundry mat. Well, the first one we went to had the last load 20 minutes earlier, so we hurried to the opposite side of campus to another one, only we had to stop at an ATM first because they don't accept B's lifeline, Visa...the ATM wasn't working. In fact, the power had shut down on the entire street. Screw this, B can do his laundry on campus like everyone else! After organizing him with his 4 washing machines, and picking out the 6 dryers for later, (typical prep...changes 3 times a day, but never considers washing clothes until all he has left is ripped gym shorts and a purple Disney t-shirt...cute look babe) we join Jimmy and Anna and try to order pizza. But this is Caragh's life, so of course even that causes drama. Jimmy's phone has no dial tone, and while I'm using Anna's portable phone in the next room, her roomie unplugs the base and I start listening to some overly horny girl's conversation about what she wants to do once she gets off work. Back to Jimmy's phone, we finally get through and can't decide on what toppings we want on the third pizza! Five minutes and one internet search later (I told yall they'd list the toppings online...) we finally call back and order our pizzas...this night is an ordeal already, and it's only 9! Well, our plan for later had been to go "home" (Bungalow's) and maybe hit up a kegger, but after talking, eating, and helping B fold all of his laundry, it was 10:30 and none of us were ready...why don't we just get alcohol and drink it in Jimmy's room? (B's roommate Joe is 22...and although he's antisocial, he's great for buying the freshmen liquor!) So we load B's car with clean laundry and drive to the other side of campus. But we can't just drop off the laundry and pick up Joe, B wants all 3 of us to see how shitty his room is compared to Langdale (or really anywhere...). So we call down Jameson and Joe to check us all in and spend the next hour going through B's closet and writing notes around his room. Now think back to how the rest of this day has been and realize what a Marx Brothers wanna-be the end is about to become...it followed my drama life pattern so well... Suddenly, we all realize it's 11:30 on a Saturday night in Lowndes County...a dry county. This meant we had 30 minutes to buy alcohol, or our entire evening would be based on the half bottle of Peach Schnapps in my closet! We jetted out, arguing all the way down Baytree about what to get, and at 11:37 we send Joe into Smitty's Liquors for Bacardi...but it's already closed! That's no problem, the man in the car next to us sends us off to Warehouse Liquors on Ashley Street. But at 11:45 when we get there, they were bolting the door! Still not stressing, Joe knows a place around the corner...only we get there and it's locked up too! So now we worry...this is Valdosta, those are basically the only 3 options. We decide beer is better than nothing, and any gas station will sell that until midnight, so at 11:48 we are racing back to Smitty's gas station on Baytree. But they have already locked the coolers up...NEXT! Back into the car, we move one gas station over and Joe runs in with 3 other desperate people behind him. He walks out at 11:58 with our case of Natty Light...can't really cut it any closer than that. Now, trying to get this case back into the dorm shouldn't have been a big deal, B brought a big duffel bag, it just looked like he was spending the night...but somehow after B dropped off Joe, he ended up turning illegially into Langdale Circle...right in front of a cop car! When we drove out, this cop starts following us...and we realize this silver case of beer is probably GLOWING out of the back window...it really would not be a good thing for a cop to see with a car that has only 4 minors in it. So I'm reaching behind my back trying to manuver this case into the duffle bag, or at least cover it up, when the cop makes a turn...phew, that was too close! We stop in Oak Street lot to fully hide the beer in the duffel and went onto Langdale...it was time to cause a little trouble! Well, lets just say we all passed out around 5 or 6 am, after finishing all but a few beers and a quarter of the Schnapps....and only 3 of us were drinking! "Never have I ever" seen Anna so drunk and B so giggly! But over all it was a fun night, and when we finally got out of bed at 7 Sunday night, we all agreed that a)we needed a nice "restful" weekend, and b)we are all total alcoholics!
