Parish Theme of the Year: Healing and Forgiveness

 

Announcing the First Light of Christ Parish Art, Music and Literary Show,

Held in conjunction with Stewardship Weekend, Nov. 22 and 23, 2003.

And the Parish Mission March 7th, 8th, 9th, &10th, 2004

 

General Instructions: 

  • The show is open to all levels of expertise, from beginners to professionals. 
  • Art works on Healing and Forgiveness are limited to pieces which have not received an award or ribbon at another Art Show.

·        Literary, Music, Theatre works on Healing and Forgiveness are limited to unpublished works and works that have not received an award elsewhere.

·        Ribbons will be awarded to each age group and category.   Judges may group several categories with a small number of entries.

 

Art work will be shown during Stewardship Weekend, November 22 and 23, 2003.

Suggested mediums but not limited to

·        Computer Art                           Paintings with water color; oil

·        Sculpture                                  Photography, video,

·        Engraving                                 Drawings: ink, pen, charcoal

·        Graphic Arts                             Lithography     

                 

Please remember that our wall and table space are limited when determining the size of your artwork.   Art Work display will be the responsibility of the artist.

 

  1. Art works completed are to be submitted no sooner than November 10 or later than November16, 2003: to Becky Daschbach; William Woodard; Maxine Leurck; Neil Kennedy; Don Koehler; or rectory receptionist Kate Kilbride.
  2. Applications are to be submitted to the above by November 1.
  3. Art works will be on view in the Hall during Stewardship Weekend.

 

Literary, Music and Theatre will Show during the Parish Mission: March 7th through 10th, 2004.

·        Literary Composition: Short story /Essay (limit 750 words)

·        Music composition (limit three minutes)

·        Poetry (one page)

·        Theatre (limit 10 Minutes acting time)

 

  1. Applications are to be submitted by January 15, 2004.
  2. Literary, Theatre, and Music works are to be completed and submitted no sooner than February 1 or Later than February 9, 2004.
  3. Those Literary, Music and Theatre works which receive ribbons will be published in a booklet available on Ash Wednesday or will appear in the weekly bulletin.
  4. Works of Music and Theatre pieces receiving ribbons on Healing and Forgiveness will be performed at a time to be determined.

Completed Art  works to be submitted no sooner than Monday November 10 or later than Sunday November 16, 2003 to Maxine Leurck; Becky Daschbach; William Woodard; Neil Kennedy; Don Koehler; or rectory receptionist Kate Kilbride.

 

Completed Literary, Music and Theatre works are to be received in the original form to any of the above individuals no later than February 9, 2004.

 

  • Judges for the Art Work Show will be announced Nov. 1, 2003.

Judges for the Literary, Music, and Theatre Show will be announced Feb. 1, 2004.

 

  • All care will be given in maintaining the security/safety of works presented but takes no responsibility if unforeseen events may happen such as but not limited to damage or theft.
