A Truth that will not be liberated is worse than a Thousand Lies. Marco of Alexandria.
Life is my Experiment and I am the Guinea Pig. Marco of Alexandria.
For me, the act of painting is an act of emotional expression. Many of my paintings are a result of emotions that stem from within, while many others express emotions that are a result of external stimulation. The most beautiful, however, are those works whose finalization is a result of an interaction between an intense internal emotion and an overwhelming external beauty. Marco of Alexandria
The Circle Imagine mentalities as being a circle ... REAL things or REGULAR things are in the exact center ... The center is certainty. Abstract ideas are distributed across the cirlce into the outer boundaries ... The more abstract the idea becomes ... The further away from the center it lies. Some people cling to certainties and therefore appreciate Art that deals with Reality ... Certain Reality ... Others only understand the abstract ... So they appear to other people as uncertain and lost ... Simply because they live outside the central normailty. That is why many artists find my work strange ... They cannot locate me on the circle ... They cannot know for sure my degree of certainty/uncertainty. I span the circle from center to outer edges and back and forth again ... Without any belief in limits or boundaries ... I explore, I dream and I discover ... I refuse to limit my self to one style or one observation ... I cherish FREEDOM ... Freedom of Knowledge ... and most of All freedom of Expression. Marco of Alexandria. June 2003
A people that values its privileges above its principles, soon loses both.
Ever notice how painting is so much like poetry. Every sentence, like a painting, has a composition and that is what makes it either attractive or not and then the nouns and shapes are what lead to form and figures while the lines and verbs link the composition and give it either motion or stillness and it is the adjectives and colors that make it beautiful, shocking or plain somber while the prepositions are the brush strokes the link all that together and unify it into an integrity.
