Trespassers?

It was the year two thousand one
When I came to this big land.
I didn’t come crossing the frontier,
But I came here sit on an airplane.

Many Hispanics come swimming through the river,
American ranchers are waiting to kill them.
This is not an offense on su merced,
But there are criminals like this down there.

Many men were killed like that.
Their only mistake was to try to get a better life.
They already had crossed the worst part,
Which is the river; and they didn’t die.

They saw a sign that symbolized their sin,
“Private Property” so they got killed.
The ranchers didn’t care about who they were,
They saw the trespassers and shot them right there.

Their families now can just pray,
Because their relatives are now in a grave.
They don’t have a tomb to put flowers on,
But they have a memory to get pictures from.
