History Of Zodiac Signs

Why do people fall in love at first sight? Why do some couples part after years together ? Why are there born leaders and followers in  any society ? Why are there passive and positive people? Could it all be in the stars?

Astrology , Which originated in Mesopotamia in the 3000(b.c), is the art of prediction based on a study of the fixed stars, The Sun, The moon and the planets .It claims that the mental and physical constitution of a person, and his fate , depend on the configuration of the heavenly bodies at the moment of his birth.

The Zodiacal belt is divided into twelve signs or houses, each influencing a certain period in the year, as follows:

Apart from the date, the time of birth is also important in astrological calculations because of the ever-changing position of the planets and the consequent influence on human nature and events. People born under the same astrological sign may be quite different in character , depending on the time of the day or night at which they were born. For example,  the sun decides the basic temperament of a person, while the moon influences his superficial behavior. The relation ship between Time and Influence is illustrated in the following table:

Belief in astrology flourished from the 14th Century to the 18th Century, but began to decline in the 19th Century with the advent of modern science which tends to dismiss astrology as mere superstition. However, millions still believe or have much interest in the subject.
