Matt Lucus

Matt Lucas was born on 5 March 1974. He first started out the London stand-up comedy circuit in 1992 at the tender age of 18, appearing as his character Sir Bernard Chumley (which can still be seen in Little Britain!). He has a long connection with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer after Bob spotted Matt at one of his gigs some weeks later.

He and David Walliams peformed at the Edinburgh Festival back in 1994 for the next three years. Around this time Matt also appeared The Smell Of Reeves And Mortimer then later as the giant nappy wearing baby George Dawes.He also worked again with Reeves and Mortimer on It's Ulrika, Bang Bang It's Reeves And Mortimer and Randall And Hopkirk Deceased.

Matt and David also had some success with the show Rock Profiles, which was shown on UK Play at the time and also part of the Ralph Little Show. Rock profiles also starred Jamie Theakston as the mock interviewer whilst Matt and David did a 'skit' on various pop stars, such as George Michael, Geri Halliwell, Elton John and Take That.

Littl Britain is what really grabbed the national and catapulted both Matt and David into the mainstream. They recently won Best Comedy Show and Performance gongs at the 2004 Royal Television Society Awards and a BAFTA for Best Comedy Series. Little Britain;s radio show also won won a Silver Sony Award.

He has also appeared on stage and the big screen, recently in a cameo role in the film, Shaun of the Dead. Matt appeared in Vic and Bob's Catterick,All Star Comedy Show and of course most recent Series Two of Little Britain.

David Walliams

Born on 20 August 1971. David Walliams and Matt were brought by their shared love of Reeves and Mortimer. David graduated from Bristol University, after performing stand-up comedian, television presenter and scriptwriter he hooked up with Matt in 1995.

David and Matt had early success with UK tour in 1997 and appeared at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal , Canada in 1999.

Amongst his projects with Matt, David has appeared in Simon Pegg's Spaced and Cruise of the Gods with Steve Coogan.

The radio series Little Britain mad a successful transition an eight-episode TV series to BBC Three in September 2003. Following a repeat run on BBC2, the series has won numerous gongs. David won Best Comedy Newcomer at the 2003 British Comedy Awards.


He's just completed a second series of Little Britain with Matt Lucas. The duo also featured in the All-Star Comedy Show and more recently Miss Marple for ITV.
